The Sims 1, 2 and 3 Remastered and released for consoles
we have no access to Sims 1 and 2 on PC, Sims 3 doesn't work well and needs a remaster desperately (it doens't even run with 64bit on Windows), the only Sims game avaliable on modern consoles is The Sims 4, the PC versions of Sims 1, 2 and 3 never came to consoles, there are a lot of people who play this franchise on consoles and they never had the opportunity to play original sims titles and its DLCs, it would be a good 25th birthday gift to the fans to remaster these beloved titles and bring them to more people on consoles, with all its DLCs and would also be a good financial opportunity for Maxis and EA to sell these DLCs for people outside of the PC space (Sims 3 for example, avaliable on PC right now, but people on console don't have a way to purchase it and its DLCs) would also be interesting to bring back console titles to modern consoles via emulation, games like The Sims Bustin' Out, The Urbz, Sims 2 Castaway, Sims 2 Pets and Sims 2 PSP should be preserved, Maxis doesn't have a good track record when it comes to game preservation, and it's free money on the table for them, cause i would purchase them on my PS5 without thinking twice229Views4likes1CommentThe Sims 1 Can't remove Hat please help

Hi all! I just discovered that SimCity 3000 has been re-released on Steam and EA App. Had to get it because, well, it has been so many years it wasn't digitally available. Yep, the release is March the 7th. I feel like such an old game being re-released now (it was originally released on 1999 after all), I feel like situation with The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 is getting more hopeful. Sure, The Sims is still going strong unlike SimCity, but still, wouldn't it be awesome? I'm trying to keep up with the news, but keep an eye on things too. Let's collect any news about EA legacy games re-releasing. After all, these include: The Sims: Complete Collection The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection The Sims Life Stories The Sims Pet Stories The Sims Castaway Stories I'll put any news in the timeline below. Timeline: January 8 2024 TwitterX user jackofallgames (jackofallgames7) reports that he got sent a job application to Maxis to a software engineer position for legacy Maxis titles. March 7 2024 9 games (one being a bundle of 17 games) get re-released on Steam and EA Store.190Views2likes9CommentsHow can I run Complete Collection on Windows 10?
I've had The Sims Complete Collection run on my Windows 10 laptop before but a long while back it stopped working with the no-CD work around. I just reinstalled the game because I really want to play it again but can't find any no-CD patches anywhere. Can anyone help with this? Thanks! UPDATE: I just tried to run the game again out of curiosity and it opened up but it was all glitched out. The neighborhood looked empty though the lots would occasionally appear if I hovered over them and when I tried to quit the game, the quit box kept disappearing before I could click it.1.4KViews1like5CommentsBring Sims 1 to Origin please???

Found via SimsVIP, a great article on the music of the Sims 1: https://noisey.vice.com/en_us/article/qveqew/the-untold-story-of-the-sims-your-first-favorite-jazz-record As mentioned in the article, the composer, Jerry Martin, has made audio files and piano transcriptions of the build mode music available for download from his web site: http://boombamboom.com/ I already printed out and played through my favorite, "Build Theme 3 - 'Since We Met'". This made me very happy. :smile:313Views1like3CommentsCan anyone remember this Sims 1 Hot Date promotional minigame?
Im guessing there is only a few people on the planet who remember this. And thats IF im even remembering it right. The Sims 1 had a website. It would feature info about the games, promotions, and people could post their own sim stories with screenshots and their storylines. Id read them all the time. If i remember right, ts1 was promoting Hot Date at the time and there was a minigame. Its a very vague memory but I think the goal was to woo your date in the allotted time. There was different date spots and one of them was a movie theater. Does this trigger a memory for anyone?242Views1like2Commentssolution to "unknown error..aborting installation" when installing/reinstalling sims 1
At least this worked for me, with the complete collection, I found it here- https://www.games4theworld.club/t22742-the-sims-1-installation-unknown-error-encountered-aborting-setup# Hello, When you attempt to (re-)install "The Sims 1" from Games4theworld, the installer might not come up at all, or you may be confronted with the error message that is in the topic title of this thread ("unknown error encountered - aborting setup"). The error seems to be caused by a previous (faulty) installation of the game. What you should do now is this. 1. Make sure to unhide all hidden files/folders. In Windows 8 & 10, you should be able to mark the option "hidden items", shown in the screenshot here. In Windows Vista and 7 go to the Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Show hidden files and folders. Under the tab "View", scroll down a bit and tick the option named "Show hidden files, folders and drives". Click on Apply, then OK. 2. Navigate to the location C:\Program files (x86). You should see a folder named "InstallShield Installation Information". Go inside it. 3. In my case, there was an entry for The Sims 1, with the folder name {F2527115-B8BF-4FDB-B5DA-5AADFB7C13E1}. If you see such a folder in your case, delete it, and try the installation again. Pay close attention to the folder name, so that you don't delete anything wrong ! If you don't have such a folder, you should check all other existing folders instead, under InstallShield Installation Information. Navigate inside each subfolder and open the "Setup.ini" files. Keep looking under "AppName" until you find the folder that contains "The Sims Complete" under AppName. And that is the folder you will need to delete.11KViews1like2CommentsSome graphic issues with MM and SS
Sims is running very well on Win10 with a noCD patch to avoid CD problems. Although, the Downtown and Vacation Screen is shown normal, the studio park and Magic Town screen is very bugged. The game shows only 1/4 of the screen. I cannot see the top bar nor the housing lot or the community lots down left. I do not use the widescreen fix, the exe file is not a noCD exe. Atleast, the game wants the CD back in the disc drive if widescreen is used. But this is n problem.52Views1like2Comments
