"From CD Keys to Digital Days: My Journey with The Sims 3"
As a long-time fan and supporter of The Sims franchise,I truly appreciate the creativity, freedom, and uniqueness that these games offer. The Sims 3,in particular, holds a special place in my heart.Over the years,I've spent countless hours enjoying its rich gameplay and detailed customization options. With the shift to digital platforms and newer updates like version 1.69,it's clear that EA has worked to make The Sims 3 more compatible with modern systems. This version helps eliminate many of the old issues, such as launcher problems, login errors,or CD key verifications, which often troubled users of the physical versions. However, many dedicated fans, including myself, still own and cherish the original CD versions. It's unfortunate that these older copies can sometimes face limitations or connection errors, even when we have legally purchased and supported the game from the beginning.I believe that continued support for CD versions,or a more flexible transition to digital, would be a great way to honor the loyal player base. While The Sims 4 offers new features, its aesthetic and emotional depth—especially with mods or paid content—feels different from the charm and freedom of The Sims 3.I fully support original games and continue to stay loyal, but I deeply miss playing The Sims 3 freely, without technical or internet-related issues. This isn't a complaint or criticism, but rather a hopeful message from someone who loves The Sims series and wants to see it remain accessible and enjoyable for everyone—newcomers and longtime players alike. I once wished for a little puppy...but instead, I discovered The Sims 3 Pets. And even after five years,it was one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve ever had.❤️🦋I Need Friends!!!!

..trying to install an older version of origin? hi everybody, i was redirected here from reddit on the advice that there are some active CAW users that might be able to help me out. i got it downloaded and installed after i redownloaded all my s3 expacs, but every time i try to launch it, i get a 'protected memory' error. from everything i've read, it seems like it runs easiest through origin rather than the stupid app, but i was praying someone might have a trick? i've already spent so long troubleshooting the base game install on a new gaming pc, after recovering my EA account in the first place, and i'm kinda starting to burn out.Need Room for Rotational Play in Sunset Valley
I realize that not many people play the Sims 3 rotationally. At least, not many people document that type of gameplay online the way they do for the Sims 2, but I'm planning quite a big undertaking in my own personal game. I have added several families (including plans for new businesses / community lots) to Sunset Valley and plan to play them all in rotation Sims 2 style using NRAAS and other mods. However, I need room for the extra families and the expansion of descendants over time, and unfortunately there's no option to add more space via subhoods like there is in Sims 2. All that to say, does anyone have ideas / techniques (probably using create a world to modify the map I guess?) to expand Sunset Valley with more residential lots in a way that feels organic and keeps most of the premade houses intact? P.S. ~ I know it might sound like if I like Sims 2 style rotational play then I would be better off playing that game, but I love so many things about the Sims 3 like the traits, customization, and open world detail, so I feel like I could better tell my sims' stories the way I want in that game, even if it takes some tweaking to get it working the way I need it to.139Views3likes3CommentsCape Albacore - A New TS3 Builder's Collaboration Base World
Welcome to Cape Albacore a world designed for a new TS3 builder's collaboration with a Cape Cod/Nantucket Island/coastal theme hosted by soocoolsim , Sandraelle and me Hidehi. As EIG in CAW is still not working at the moment we have decided to again offer residential and community lots by various creators via the Exchange for simmers to download and add to this world and their games as required. Please check out soocoolsim's thread in the builder's section of the forums for all the details about the collaboration and alerts to any new builds that are ready to be downloaded https://tinyurl.com/CapeAlbacore We are also planning to make a save-game available when all the builds have been completed just like Sandraelle so kindly put together for our Disney Magic Kingdom Collab. We are aware that the numbers of active TS3 simmers are dwindling quite fast but we very much hope that we can attract some interest from builders and/or decorators of all skill levels and we would love for you to join us for a bit of fun Here are some screenshots just to give you an impression of Cape Albacore: World download link: https://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=9564729 PS: We thought that 'fishy' names are most suitable and fun for an island/coastal world and therefore decided to name our world 'Cape Albacore' ... by the way just in case you didn't know an Albacore is a species of tuna :D Sandraelle gathered all the awesome names of different types of fish and other sea creatures for our lot addresses. Enjoy exploring for example Blobfish Path, Flounder Way, Seahorse Boulevard or our favourite the Barracuda Highway 🐟🐠🐡 Thank you for your interest, enjoy Cape Albacore, have fun placing lots as they become available and above all 'Happy Simming'! First off, I feel like a thread like this needs to be stickied at the top of this subforum. This is clearly the main Sims forum now, so this needs to be easily accessible. Paging @SimGuruDrake to do so if you feel it's worthy!! This is the thread for posting about worlds that you have found over the years for TS3 that you know love and can't imagine ever not having in your game. They can be your worlds, worlds that you've found in other places online, whatever! Just make sure to note if the world in question also requires CC (if the CC comes packaged with the world, make note of that, too!) To start this off, I'm immediately giving a shoutout to Legacy Island III by @Rflong7. One of my absolute favorite worlds to have ever played in EVER. It's large, but contains content from every single expansion, which is perfect for me. Few, if any, routing issues. No CC necessary, just expansions! Second is Alpine County by @western077 . HUMONGOUS world that utilizes a lot of different content from different expansions. I adore it, but don't play in it very often because of its size. Comes in both populated and unpopulated forms! Says it doesn't require CC or store items, but I feel as if there were a few item replacements for some store items. I could be wrong, though!!60KViews2likes529CommentsWhat is the best CC free custom world that you have ever played?
I am curious, because I haven't played too many worlds that other people have made and I would really like to try a few more. I would prefer that the world be populated, but if not, no big deal. If it has an official saved game file please let me know. I don't mind if it is populated in that way, however, I would prefer that the lots be included in the map file itself, in case the saved game file doesn't work for me for some strange reason. I would really like to see some beautiful well done CC free world. Things like Rabbit hole rugs count as CC, so please don't mention worlds here that use them. If you really like them, and feel that it's worth it, we can agree to disagree. Please provide a link to the original map file to download, as well as the official saved game file ( if it has one ) along with may be two to three screenshots. I would love to hear about why you like the world so much and everything that the creator did that you really think deserves praise543Views0likes2CommentsWhat factors are most likely to convince you to recommend someone else’s world?
I’ve created multiple worlds and posted them on the exchange, and even through many people have downloaded them, the last two, so far have gotten less than ten recommendations. What are the things that you look for when you down load a new world to try out? What is most likely to motivate you to press that recommend button? What factors are you looking for. Please give us some specific details, if at all possible. This could help me out as well as anyone else who is still creating worlds for the Sims 3, and perhaps help to improve the overall quality of worlds on the exchange. Note: even through it’s the world I created right before Raycaster Falls, Nectary Hills is not on the exchange because it wouldn’t upload to that site for some strange reason. When I said my last two worlds on the exchange, I was specifically talking about Raycaster Falls, and the last I was able to get on the exchange before that, Mystic Stone Bay. I just wanted to clear up any possible confusion before hand. This only applies to the worlds I was able to get on the exchange.208Views1like9CommentsFavorite Remade Worlds from TS1 & TS2 for TS3
Hey everyone! I am always tired of searching the internet for hours so I thought it would be a nice idea to have one thread where all of the remade original neighborhoods were. Please post your favorites from The Sims and The Sims 2 made for The Sims 3 here! I cannot wait to see them! :)645Views1like8Comments
