Career mode bugs and improvments the mode desperately needs
I played half a season in career mode now with Barcelona and Im pretty underwhelmed because of all the bugs that make the good ideas the career mode team had not really enjoayable. Rodri wants to leave because I didnt include him in the matchday squad because his fitness was super low and because I have limited bench spots I decided to leave him out for 1 match and include a talent, which led to him contacting me that he wants to leave. We need more spots on the bench like in real life. I dont even really get the chance to include talents in the matchday squad because there are not enough spots on the bench and therefore I have to leave someone important out who will complain the next day and ask for a transfer. Olmo and Gavi asked to be loaned out because they are rotational players ( which is the agreed role in their contract) but now Im forced to loan them even if I would rather sell them I cant change their transfer status, that makes absolutely no sense. I understand them wanting to leave in search for more game time but I would like to have the option to sell them. Teams are hording players again. Example: Real Madrid sign Diogo Costa despite having Courtois, Liverpool signing Kvaratshkhelia despite having Barcola, Chelsea signing Oyarzabal and Thuram despite having Pedro, Emegha and Welbeck. It takes way too long for players to main a position. I have been using Raphinha as a striker for the whole season and he has 20 goals and 15 assists in the 20 games I have played so far in LaLiga and he still has a higher OVR if I just put him on LW. Players should automatically switch to a new position if you use them there for long enough and it should be quicker if they perform well. Goalkeeper fitness needs rebalancing because Joan Garcia is never match fit despite not having an injury. Keepers rarely get tired in real life and play almost every match. I would have to rotate my keeper every 3 matchdays just to keep him in the green area of fitness. Gerneral fitness is also a bit too harsh especially when you use a team that play 3 or 4 competitions but for keepers its an extreme case. Balde, who Ive been using only 2 times this season got a Base OVR for some reason and his morale is not even down. He is content despite having the role "important" in his contract. I noticed this with Malo Gusto from Chelsea who I wanted to sign too, he played 2 matches for them and he still has a 82 Baseline OVR. I like the gameplay but sometimes players just start making random, unnecessary skill moves in front of goal and they also cross the ball randomly despite facing no opponent pressure and a simple pass being the more intelligent choice. I like that there are more fouls in the game but the style of fouls should change a bit instead of slide tackling players left and right there should be fouls for running too fast in an opponent and shouldering him like back in FIFA 17. Also I feel like there should be slightly more tactical fouls. I cant block offers for my star players because apparently they want to leave despite never contacting me and I have not given them any reason to leave. I cant loan players for 1/2 a yearwhen they have 1 1/2 years left on their contract because of their contract situation same for the players that I want to loan out from my club and when I want to renew them Im told that the player currently does not want to engage in contract talks and I have to wait for him to contact me which is not realistic at all. All of the loan offers I received were 2 year loans despite 1 year or 1/2 year (especially in winter transfer window) being more common in real life this needs balancing as well. I noticed a rather small mistake like a Dollar sign being used in negotiations despite selecting Euros as currency When I tried to sign Ngumoha from Liverpool they told me they were unwilling to sell I approached them twice and even declared interested after the first approach failed but that did not help but then I saw him moving to Bayern despite them saying they dont want to sell. Something similar happened when I wanted to sign Livramento from Newcastle I approached them 3 times and they always told me they did not have enough players in that position ( they had dedic and still more than enough time in the window) and on deadline day they signed 2 left backs ( one of them can play RB) and sold livramento to Liverpool, so they did not even give me a chance because I was 1 or 2 days too early, which makes no sense. A club that inquired about a player should at least be contacted again with a message saying they are now willing to negotiate just like it happens in real life. Saudi clubs are not active enough in the transfer window the biggest signing from them was Flamingo from PSV to Al Hilal for 18M I feel like they should sign bigger names. Maybe its just a coincidence but big injurys didnt happen for me in game yet were I was forced to sub off a players the only big injuries were the ones from training. I feel like tactics could be a bit more immersive for example corner tactics are not really a thing in the game you can just assign where a player should stand which is confusing as well because you cant see it in a preview or something like in Football Manager. There should also a penalty and captain hierarchy. We should be able to change CPU sliders once in career mode and we should be able to set hotkeys like back when we could press triangle to go to emails. This is the biggest criticism I have so far I didnt mention a few improvments because I saw that apparently its being worked on like a new UI, a new youth academy system and player data like total goals and transfer history. All in all I feel like there are some thing that make it seem like the game was barely tested before releasing because I found out about some of the bugs 20 minutes into the game.[Manager Career Mode] Multiple Major Bugs EAFC27 at launch
Hello EA, I am putting together a comprehensive list of major bugs, technical flaws, and gameplay issues found in EA Sports FC 27 Career Mode. I have broken these down clearly so the QA and development teams can investigate them. And my fellow gamers, if you are experiencing these same issues, please upvote and reply to help get this pinned and addressed on priority! Part 1: Technical & Career Mode Bugs Permanent Transfer Lock on "Loose" Negotiation Settings Category: Transfers / Manager Career Issue: Even with transfer negotiations set to Loose, signing players with "Medium" interest (e.g., Sean Steur, Javi Guerra, Jauregizar, Pisilli) is completely broken. Over multiple seasons, all approach requests are instantly rejected by the selling club. Details: The selling clubs have sufficient squad depth and plenty of time in the window to find replacements. Even when one wants to offer massive premium transfer fees, the user is completely locked out of negotiating. These players eventually join other non-rival clubs, but remain permanently "locked" and un-signable for the user's club forever. The rejection status never resets at the end of transfer windows or seasons. You can't just sign them for eternity. Coaching Staff Slots Glitch Category: Club Management Issue: Hiring slots for coaching staff are completely bugged. The game prevents you from shuffling, swapping, or reallocating more coaches to specific departments (e.g., trying to move coaches to focus heavily on the Midfield department). Youth Academy Scout "Soft-Lock" Category: Youth Scouting Issue: Once a scout completes an assignment and the report is available, it is impossible to send that scout to a new country. Even after completely clearing the scouting pool by signing or rejecting every single player, the option to reposition the scout is missing. The UI remains stuck on "Report Available." Broken Youth Academy Player Faces & Textures Issue: Youth academy player generation has seen zero improvement and appears heavily glitched. Players generate with unrealistic, bright hair colors, highly repetitive preset face shapes, deformed lips/mouths, and extremely pale, sickly skin tones. Only 5–6 face presets look normal; the rest are highly immersion-breaking. Dynamic Potential Hard Cap Category: Player Growth Issue: Dynamic Potential appears to be hard-capped at a +2 maximum increase. Regardless of a young player's phenomenal form, match ratings, and season-over-season stats, their potential ceiling refuses to scale realistically, making the feature feel stagnant. Missing Attribute Growth & Status Tracker Category: UI / Squad Hub Issue: There is no longer a clear visual trajectory to monitor player growth. In previous editions, users could easily see numerical attribute increases (+/-) and changes in potential status text (e.g., Showing Great Potential vs. Has Something Special). This critical tracking UI is missing or obscured. Core Game Freezes & Hard Crashes Category: Stability / Performance Issue: Frequent screen freezing occurs during standard menus and match transitions. Furthermore, the game suffers from complete application crashes back to the system dashboard right in the middle of active gameplay. Misaligned Formation UI & Commentary Desync Category: Squad formation Issue: The 4-2-3-1 Narrow formation layout displays incorrectly in the Team Management screen compared to previous years. Additionally, during kickoff, the commentary guy incorrectly calls the tactic a 4-5-1, indicating a text/audio desync. Part 2: Gameplay & AI Tuning Issues First-Touch Instability & Bouncing Ball Rebounds Issue: Player first-touches while receiving standard ground passes are heavily overtuned for me by default, frequently spinning wildly out of control. Additionally, defensive AI logic breaks during corner deflections, bouncing balls, and rebounds, resulting in a disproportionate number of cheap, unavoidable goals where user inputs are ignored. Once a while is ok, but every single time, come on. Repetitive Robotic CPU fast Tiki-Taka, Rebounds, Corner disparities even in Authentic mode Issue: While open-play passing feels smoother, the CPU attacking AI lacks variety. CPU teams rarely score from logical, open-play build-ups. Instead, they struggle until they instantly trigger hyper-fast, robotic "tiki-taka" passing sequences that are entirely un-defendable. CPU also doesn't let our defenders win headers when taking corners. And almost all rebounds and ball bouncing are pounced by CPU players even if my player is in closest proximity. Low Tier Transfer/Loan Market Stagnation Issue: Receiving transfer or loan offers for unused/fringe squad players is incredibly rare in the first two seasons. Lower-division clubs show zero interest in taking these players on loan, forcing users to repeatedly manually release players and waste budget. Broken Real Player Face Models (Under-20 Wonderkids) Issue: Highly-rated wonderkids under 20 (such as Nijstad, Inacio, Jeltsch, Nathan de Cat, Mikkel Bro Hansen) completely lack authentic faces. Furthermore, young players who do have real faces (like Gilberto Mora, Baturina, Jesus Rodriguez, Paul Wanner, Lucas Bergvall, Leoni, Vuskovic, Yildiz) look severely deformed, ugly looking, and completely unrealistic in-game. Generic Social Media Feed Algorithms Issue: The social media section lacks context. Comments are frequently completely unrelated to the actual post. The feed heavily favors news about external leagues/teams rather than prioritizing the user's own club, academy graduates, or recent trophy wins. Part 4: Intrusive Ultimate Team SP Progression Updates Mid-Career Mode Issue: For players who exclusively play single-player offline Career Mode and have zero interest in Ultimate Team, the continuous visual pop-ups and progression notifications for Ultimate Team Season Points (SP) during post-match screens are incredibly frustrating and immersion-breaking. Part 5: Suggestions & Feedback for Future Updates Dynamic Overall Tuning: Scale back the speed of attribute growth for players in their mid-30s compared to under-30 players. Additionally, make hitting a 90+ overall significantly more challenging and prestigious to preserve realistic game lifecycles. Commentary Depth & Variety: While the local commentary addition is appreciated, the script feels robotic and lacks historical flavor. Commenty should dynamically track your club's transfer window sagas, highlight your big-money signings during matches, and discuss the progression/milestones of your youth academy graduates over multiple games. Praise where it's due: The new detailed, multi-step transfer negotiation process is incredible and a massive step forward for the mode, it just needs the above bugs ironed out to make it playable ! This may have saved you this year single handedly. Otherwise EA was doomed this time since many of us founder fans don't care about UT and Grounds mode. Andreas seems to take interest and is taking input from fans.Regens are simply overpowered.
I’ll simply start with this tweet, which sums up the whole problem, before going into the details: x.com/glennmurphy18/status/2101523112017657866 I was running some tests with Las Palmas and realized that at the start of Season 2—in July—there are, I kid you not, about 10 free agents aged 18 with an OVR of 80+, and I’d say around 50 rated above 70. You might say, "Just don't sign them," but that misses the point: it completely ruins the realism of Career Mode. It alters the market dynamics—allowing a club like Getafe to pick up a 79-rated player, sell him for a high fee, and reinvest the cash—but ABOVE ALL, it kills the fun when you find yourself facing teams like Betis or Atlético in Season 2 and they’re fielding 80-rated regens that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. In short, this is the number one thing that needs fixing before anything else if the mode is to have any chance of survival.
“Career Mode needs major community-driven improvements”
I really think Career Mode could become one of the best parts of EA SPORTS FC if EA focused more on what the community has been asking for over the years. I have a few ideas that I think could make a huge difference. Bring back Adjust Position Please bring back a proper Adjust Position feature. Players should have more freedom to change a player's position and develop them in different roles instead of being restricted by the positions the game gives them. Face Scans for players who want them Give players the opportunity to have their real face added to the game if they want to participate. There are many players who would probably be willing to provide the necessary scans and information, and it would make Career Mode feel much more authentic. Design kits for future seasons Let us redesign our club's home, away and third kits when a new season begins. If I'm managing a club for 10+ seasons, I don't want to keep seeing the same kits forever. Let managers create new kits and make their club feel like it is actually evolving. More control over PlayStyles Give players more control over which PlayStyles their players develop. Obviously there should be limits so that the system stays balanced, but managers should have more influence over how a player's abilities develop. A real B team / reserve team If I promote a young player from the academy but he isn't getting enough minutes with the first team, I should be able to send him to a proper B team where he can actually play matches and develop instead of just sitting on the bench. This would make academy development much more realistic. Custom fan chants Let us create or select chants for our club and add them to the stadium atmosphere. The fans should have their own songs and chants, and they should become part of the identity of the club. Imagine taking a small club to the top and gradually creating a completely unique atmosphere around it. Make stadium atmosphere evolve The stadium should feel different after several seasons. More trophies, bigger crowds, different chants, new banners, better facilities and changes to the atmosphere could make a long-term Career Mode save feel much more alive. A Classic FIFA mode This would be something really special. Create a mode where players can experience older FIFA games inside FC. For example, someone who never played FIFA 17 could select FIFA 17 and experience what it was like to play that game. Older menus, gameplay, presentation, teams, kits, stadiums and other features could be recreated or preserved where licensing allows it. It would also give younger players a way to understand how FIFA used to feel instead of only hearing older players talk about it. Listen to the Career Mode community more Most importantly, I think EA should have someone whose actual responsibility is to listen to the Career Mode community. Look at EA Forums, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok and other communities. Find the features that players have been requesting for years and prioritize them. I don't think every yearly game needs to completely reinvent Career Mode. But I do think the mode should evolve in meaningful ways instead of feeling like the previous game with a few additions. Career Mode has so much potential. Give players more control, more customization, more immersion and more reasons to keep a save going for 10, 15 or even 20 seasons. There are thousands of players who genuinely want Career Mode to be amazing. Please listen to them.Selling/Loaning youth players and fitness chaos
Hey there, I recognize two problems in career mode, let me talk about that: it is nearly impossible to sell or loan youth players or bad players. I put them on the transfer list but getting no offers. This is really bad in regard to their dynamic OVR and the potential. This needs to be fixed quickly. the second thing is about the fitness. In FC26 it was possible to play for example high pressing and after 6 days of rest I could let play the same starting 11. now I have to switch the squad every game because of the bad fitness. And players with high fitness have the same problems. This leads the players to transfer offers because they are mad that they don’t play every game. So on the one hand they must understand that they only will not play because of their fitness or on the other hand the fitness system has to be fixed. Can you please give that to the teamEA_Darko ? thanks a lot!Severe bugs in manager Mode – Transfers, Team Sheets, Player Growth, and Morale
Huge issues in Career Mode: Transfers: Signings not arriving: When I sign a player, it states they will join in the next transfer window, but they never show up. Sold players not leaving: When I sell a player, the game says they will depart during the upcoming transfer window, yet they remain in my squad indefinitely. Contract renegotiation bug: When negotiating with a player and attempting to counter-offer, the game suddenly triggers absurd demands, forcing salary demands of €800k–€900k/week. Team & Squad Management: Zero squad control / Broken Team Sheets: Whenever I set and save my Starting 11 and substitutes, the game automatically resets them. Random players are placed into the starting lineup and bench as soon as I go back into the menu. Forced player transfer requests: Starting a brand-new career mode, the top players immediately demand transfer requests on Day 1 without giving any chance or option to prevent it. No Player Overall Growth: Young/in-form players are not developing properly. Even when playing regularly as starters and maintaining top form, their dynamic potential and overall ratings barely increase. Forced Captaincy changes: I should have full control over choosing the team captain instead of getting forced board emails demanding a change. Gameplay & Morale: Clunky aerial duels & trips: During aerial challenges, players constantly lose balance, trip over themselves, and lose the ball. (This tripping/stumbling animation bug has been present for over 5 years now). Broken Morale & Substitution Logic: Young or lower-rated players instantly request transfers or demand game time. The system only registers starting appearances—subbing them in as bench players does not satisfy them. Furthermore, if you sub off a key starter to give a sub some minutes, you immediately get an angry email from the starter complaining about being taken off. EVERY YEAR, BUY NEW GAME, AT FINAL YOU BUY NEW BUGS!!! 😡Worst fc ever
I’ve bought every game since fifa international soccer. The first day released of 26 was geat. This is sooooooo bad I hate it and want my money back. Fc 27 is the worst football game I’ve ever played professional is way too easy world class is a nightmare. I seriously want my money back I play this game to relax not to lose my temper this is easily the worst fifa ever no to mention the overall in career mode and and players getting annoyed at everything and regens. They just made it the worstPlease fix the bugs in Manager Career Mode:
Changes to the order of substitutes on the bench in Team Management do not take effect. This refers to their arrangement in the bench list, not their playing positions. Menu music plays at a very high volume during youth tournament Rush matches. Players and managers without real face scans sometimes have blue hair or eyebrows. This post was translated using a translation tool, so some wording may sound unnatural.Career Mode Nonsense
I'm currently in the first season of my player career, and so far, I haven't run into any issues. Even though it's the same as last year's, at least it's not a fiasco like the managerial career mode. As for the managerial career mode: Substitute players aren't listed properly; I start cursing the game when I can't see the squad in the correct order—goalkeeper, two center-backs, defensive midfielder, playmaker, two wingers, and two strikers. A rotation player I had fielded in 14 consecutive matches submitted a transfer request, claiming he hadn't received enough playing time simply because I rested him for a single cup match. While the "dynamic overall rating" mechanic makes sense in theory, it is absolute nonsense for a goalkeeper's rating to increase after a loss or for a striker's rating to drop after a win (in which he scored twice). Furthermore, it is infuriating when—during a period where we are contending for the league title and everything is generally going well—an academy graduate's rating suddenly plummets by 4 points and his potential crashes from 94 to 72. Even though I placed academy-grown players on the loan list, I couldn't loan them out to other teams because no offers came in; the same applies to the relatively better players I added to the transfer list. This is a completely different issue. Despite some positive developments across the game, the manager career mode is the worst, most dysfunctional, and most terrible career mode released under the EA FC banner to date. Console games should be about having fun—not an activity that causes you to constantly curse and get stressed, ultimately leading you to quit in frustration (or forcing you to give up). Especially when it’s a game you’ve paid good money for...Fix Career Mode
how can you offer a early release of a game at £80 when it's full of bugs? you have a massive community for career mode but it's seriously neglected and we've seen the same this year - players don't play for 2 games and they want to leave, i have players asking for the most stupid wages when i want to negotiate, we can't send youth academy players out on loan as no offers come in nor can we see how many playstyles they have unless we sign them (last year at least it was listed how many they have), I enquire to buy the most random player (Fofana from Severette) for example and within 2-3 days he is elsewhere??? and the press conferences? why have they become so boring and so consistent? only two options which i don't see has any affect on team morale or an individual player? please make the next update fix these issues sooner rather than later because it's actually a joke how neglected these other modes are even though you're charging a mad price for an unfinished game to be released early
