Early Game Changes
Adventure Levels 1-30 Rebalance ⚖️
We’ve trimmed down unexpected zombie-wave difficulty spikes and ironed out the rhythm of battles to ensure defending your lawn feels fair and engaging. As part of this calibration, we’ve also changed when certain Zombies like Chicken Wrangler and Screen Door Zombie first appear to ensure a smoother learning curve
Feature Unlock Timing 🔐
To make sure that our new garden defenders don’t get buried under a mountain of garden gadgets all at once, and have time to learn to use them, we’ve adjusted the timing for when core features like Lawn Patrol, Events, the Store and Zen Garden unlock to create a smoother introduction to the game. This allows first-timers to master basic tactics before unlocking more advanced systems. We’ve also added tips for each of these features to let you know when they will unlock.
Zen Garden Tutorial 🪴
New neighbors reaching Adventure Level 12 will receive a quick briefing on the basics of planting, merging, and harvesting.
Updated Starter Pack
We’ve updated the Starter Pack to give new neighbors more immediate tactical support. The pack now features plants that help you stand firm against early game challenges using the new Soaked condition.
Changes & Fixes
Our neighborhood maintenance crew has been hard at work. Here is the complete list of fixes in this update.
Gameplay & Balance ⚔️
- Change: Chicken Wrangler now jumps backward upon taking damage from Spikeweed, Sawgrass, or Chainsawgrass. This gives your spiky plants more time to puncture the wrangler and leaves you plenty of breathing room to deal with the incoming chickens once he is defeated!
- Change: Diggin’ Zombie and Stealth Imp Zombie spawn rates have been reduced. They were on the higher side, which overwhelmed players with the large number spawning in at once. This should bring them to the intended difficulty.
- Fix: Acid Rain now falls on everyone equally! High-flying and airborne zombies will now take damage from the storm just like ground units.
- Fix: Parasol Zombie's stylish parasol now correctly blocks Acid Rain from hitting her directly, keeping her shielded until the umbrella is destroyed.
- Fix: Es-Garg-ot's sticky slime has been adjusted so it no longer tricks you into thinking barren, non-interactive soil tiles can be planted on.
- Fix: Adjusted the pacing on Adventure Level 13 and Levels 20 through 30, and corrected the hazard ratings shown on Levels 15 and 20.
- Fix: Sewer Expedition now spawns zombies right from the start of the level instead of waiting for the first wave.
- Fix: Fixed a screen freeze when collecting starter quest goals or finishing the final wave of the Level 5 Es-Garg-ot battle.
- Fix: Adventure Level 5 now rewards players with the intended 10 Spikeweed seeds instead of 25.
- Fix: Interacting with water and Plants in the Zen Garden no longer causes errors, and Plant merging drag speeds have been improved.
- Fix: The Parasol Zombie tutorial in Level 2 now waits to display until a Parasol Zombie actually enters the board.
- Fix: Fixed a soft lock in the Yard that would occasionally block players from starting their next battle.
- Fix: Milestone rewards in Patrice's Plant Missions now claim one at a time instead of all at once.
Art & Animations 🎨
- Fix: Slipping Imp has updated his diving gear! He now remains fully opaque and visible when sliding through or submerged in water tiles.
- Fix: Adjusted the size of Pine Needler so it sits perfectly and comfortably on its designated lawn tile when planted.
- Fix: Tingling-Pult now plays its correct aquatic spawn animation when placed in water, showing splashy water effects instead of land roots.
- Fix: Counter-Punch Zombie's shadow in the Almanac preview has been updated to cast a realistic shape.
- Fix: Fixed a visual issue in the Almanac where Parasol Zombie was missing her left hand. It has been safely reattached!
- Fix: Cleared out some cosmic static in the Almanac when viewing Zombies. The Cosmic Clouds animation now displays its proper, deep space colors without any strange magenta spots.
- Fix: Adjusted the visual effects during Slipping Imp's slide and defeat animations to remove a misplaced blue splash.
- Fix: Imp riders will now stay firmly on their Gargantuar’s shoulders even when a nearby Mangle Kelp finishes using up all its attacks.
- Fix: Corrected the lighting on Adventure Level 10 to display proper daytime lighting across the lawn.
- Fix: Updated Spikeweed seed packets to show in full color in your seed packet binder.
- Fix: Resolved a lighting glitch so the reward celebration light effect plays properly after completing Level 3.
- Fix: Corrected Level 10 to show the right themed loading screen art when entering and exiting the level.
- Fix: Level replays now cycle through a wider variety of loading screens.
UI & UX 📱
- Fix: Tapping on your Zen Garden harvest info screen now displays the 3x harvest multiplier clearly and correctly.
- Fix: Fixed a translation issue that caused strange text to appear in Daily Tasks when playing on non-English device settings.
- Fix: Corrected the spelling of the Campground Commander sticker in the sticker book to restore its missing "p."
- Fix: The Almanac entry for the Slipping Imp now displays its ability cooldown timer so you can plan your defenses.
- Fix: The Almanac page for Flapjack Zombies now displays its damage statistic using clear, descriptive terms instead of a confusing raw number.
- Fix: The Daily Meter now displays right after you finish Level 2.
- Fix: Adjusted text layouts across several menus to prevent overlapping lines.
- Fix: Fixed the device back button on the Cards of Chaos post-game screen to return you to the event menu as expected.
- Fix: Fixed an issue where the Events button would occasionally disappear from the main screen.
- Fix: Realigned Crazy Dave's dialogue boxes and comic panels in the tutorial so they do not overlap.
- Fix: Plants can now be unlocked directly from the pre-battle Family Tree view.
- Fix: Adjusted the text and spacing in the Starter Pack purchase screen for better readability.
- Fix: The pre-level warning sign now turns red if the recommended Plant for the level is currently locked.
- Fix: Fixed Level 1 tutorial screens to pair it with matching artwork and text.

- Fix: Added missing active lawn hazards to the Adventure Level 25 pre-battle screen.
- Fix: Updated the tip in the pop-up when you meet Es-Garg-ot.
- Fix: Fixed the purchase button for the Plant Pass so it displays its label and responds when tapped.

- Fix: The Potato Mine tutorial now displays at the correct moment with proper instructions.
- Fix: Recommended Plants on the pre-battle screen now show their correct effectiveness badges against current zombie threats.
- Fix: Tapping the Status Effect info button during combat now opens the guide cleanly without interrupting active gameplay.
