Realistically, this is happening no matter what the community says, right? You've gone this far, some form of this will be implemented, regardless of community sentiment? My comment will continue with that assumption. In the small chance this could actually be stopped, please just don't do this.
My thoughts based on what's been discussed/posted that I've seen:
- This does not look to make the game more fun. This is a game after all. To those developing this system, honestly, how is this more fun?
- In the current state of the game, I think the system based on the information given will only make the worst parts of the game even worse. We still have a territory war system that is just badly designed and encourages sandbagging (and here I mean actual, intentional sandbagging). This change would make that worse.
- I'm an end game player. I had Hondo day 1, the only character I don't have is Maz for obvious reasons. I even increased my spending a bit this past year. You know where I struggle the most? R8 and R9 mats. This major update better include some massive improvements to reaching higher relics. If the change gets implemented as known, and there is no adjustments to increasing relics, if I don't quit the game, I certainly will peel back any spending relating to PvP (i.e. new GL spending, most new marquee spending, maybe all) because I simply will never spend enough to have a full R9 roster.
- Can we get an explanation on why it has to be non-linear? That just seems extra punishing to those not willing to spend large sums if they want to compete
- I generally consider myself knowledgeable with the game - I am often the one in my guild who can list various counters. As presented, this system just throws nearly all of that out. The game has enough complexity, I am very concerned this system would just add layers of complexity that are not enjoyable.
- Please do not make it go to 95% damage increase/reduction. Even 75% seems egregious.
On a more personal note, I seriously worry what this will do to my guild in terms of people that will quit. Going back to my first point - this isn't going to make the game more fun, and if anything, it'll make it more frustrating.
