Why even *bother* releasing these events before the entire team is out and ready to go? Having these events be unbeatable the first few runs for even whales does nothing aside from frustrate them and prove that spending isn't worth it - counter to what we would think you'd want the community to think.

Yeah, I'm not usually one for all the negativity on these forums, but I kind of agree here. I'm not typically a whale, but I did with LV clones (and Ahsoka before that...), and the Knightfall event is pretty much the opposite of encouragement to whale on this format going forward. Besides whaling, I've dedicated farming, etc. to gathering everything to beef the LV team up (3 - 9's and 2 - 8's), but we can't even use our own LV. I took Appo and Scorch to R9 blowing through any stash I had, and I can't even get halfway through the last tier, and the tiers before that were a pain the entire way. Rewards are nice if you can get them (almost nobody in my guild can), but I'm worried this is their test for a new format in place of Assault Battles eventually. All this temporary stuff (datacrons, Era Battles, raid omicrons, etc.) that eventually destroy the investment you've made is a trend I'd personally not like to see more of.

I tend to not like temporary stuff as well, but just wanted to throw out there that you can definitely get all the rewards with the clones you have. It takes some patience and a few retries but I had 3 stars on tiers with just Appo and CX2 at R9. The rest of the R9s for the team paid for themselves with the repeats of the assault battle.
This one seems even more generous to me - instead of having to whale on two brand new units, we have one, and we get to use a conquest character that most people will acquire for free. Conquest characters are the most F2P accessible units out there. So far until the tiers that require Master Windu (which you'll also be getting, I assume) it's half the investment required for the same rewards. Seems like a win to me.
Hard locking behind JMWindu means that, if anything like Knightfall's cadence, the first 4 runs of this event (out of about 12 runs total) will be hard-capped at T4. A full third of the runs of the event you won't even have the chance to complete it. That does significantly alter the spending math.
I don't disagree you can earn some rewards back for spending on these new units. But again - why not roll out the event after Temple Guard, Depa, and JMWindu are out? That way, the first pass of the event, the true whales can attempt all tiers, and there's no feelings of missing out for even the biggest of spenders.

This person complains about literally everything. I have yet to see a positive comment from them, to be fair.
I did t1 and t2 with a g9 Appo. If you were struggling to finish t1 with an R8 then maybe Hello Kitty Island Adventure is more your speed.
I was being facetious and exaggerating the matter *a bit*, but the fact stands, it took a fair amount of time (and RNG, or remodding) for even an R7 Appo to clear the first couple of phases. And T3++ weren't even possible with just Appo, or insanely difficult and RNG dependent. Not a fun first experience with this new event format, and like I said - a strong counterargument to whaling.
They want to replace ABs with era battles so no longer permanent rewards. Basically we give more money as they release more characters and they give less rewards in the long run so we end up spending even more. And all the characters they release are different factions so they control the teams and we need all 5 chars to have the team, rather than using our older investments. The older chars just turn into trash.
