Things we need at MINIMUM if this change isn't going to be a net negative.
#1 - Severely reduce the number of options at each level.
4 or less stats, 3 lvl 3's per faction, 3 lvl 6's per faction, and at most a total of 2 factions for the lvl 6.
Then limit us to 12 total lvl 9's. (the lvl 9 number isn't set in stone, but I think 3-5 per faction is typically enough)
#2 - Materials and crons need adjusted to have 133% of current droprates.
#3 - Shop prices need reduced by 25% for all datacron related items.
I still don't think that players have any issues with the entire game not functioning directly in line with eras. However I think the opposite direction would have been more intuitive.
Instead of 3 cron sets per era, why not just synchronize it with conquest/eras anyways, and have 1 cron set per conquest. Bump up the lifetime to 6 months, and reduce the drop rates + increase costs to compensate. (67% drop rates, 150% costs for mats/currency/crons)
Without the changes I listed at the start, this will fully just come off as a cash grab. Since we now need more mats/currency/crons per month to keep the same size of datacron inventory.
If the team's goals are truly as stated, the above changes shouldn't be an issue to implement.
