I really appreciate the lengthy post and the thought process, and strongly agree with a lot of your points. What I’m most excited about is the last paragraphs. New game modes, new journey guide, play characters sooner, etc.

look at a game like raid shadow legends—there are certainly a LOT of core differences between the two games, however, content wise, they pump out so many bosses, dungeons, things to do, etc. Please focus on putting out more interesting ways to use our characters.
