You could use this same justification for Gear 12 to Gear 13, or Gear 13 to Relic 3, or Relic 3 to Relic 5, and claim it doesn't solve scalability. Address the scaling issues by modifying the current system, do the math. EVERYONE is telling you adding another system on top won't be good for the game.
