Your excuse on: Do nothing | Example: The game stays at R9.
Is total bull**bleep**. As you stated at the outset of a vertical progression game, our kits get stronger because we unlock new characters and invest in them. The scalability, the growth, the core gameplay loop of Play > Get Rewards > Invest > Get Stronger > Play has **bleep** **bleep** AND ALL to do with relic levels.
Take our current Conquest Rewards track. No part of unlocking Maz is tied to relic levels. "Win 20 Battles with Omega (Fugitive) surviving". I can do that with a Gear 8 Omega if I'm smart and play well. Figuring out how is part of the fun. Is it easier with Relic investment? Obviously. But the point is I can still get stronger, grow my roster, find characters I actually want to invest in, without relying on relic levels.
"Rewards don't matter and there is nowhere to invest." --> Once again, total bull**bleep**. You invest in fun characters that can perform in raids for you guild; for TW and Conquest and GAC up to the point they are needed. But, if the core of the game is unlocking new characters to get stronger, than the REWARD is tied directly to your current roster's ability to perform, I.E. our investment. Adding in a system that nerfs our rosters across the board is a gigantic middle finger to the player base.
The fact you were paying people to build this crap instead of new characters or events shows your prioritizes. Scrap whatever team was working on this and have them build out a new Knights of Ren squad or GL Revan. I guarantee you would see more revenue from upping the release of cool new characters than trying to squeeze more from whales and pissing off all the dolphins so that we turn into F2P.
If all you wanted was more whale meat, there are better ways to do it too.
The fact that this post tells me Relic Delta is coming regardless of the community outcry says a lot.
