I read it but I'm still going to peace out if Relic Delta enters in any form.
To keep this game fresh characters and teams need to counter and be countered by, other teams. The fun is figuring out the meta and countering your opponent with the "cheapest" team possible, with various amounts of risk. Sometimes you pull it off, sometimes you fail and have to readjust your whole strategy as now you have to commit more valuable resources. If you can beat something high relic with something lower that is a direct counter then thats life, that's part of the game. Your high relic counters other teams itself, that doesn't mean your R9 is worthless.
The problems in the game revolve around, not the grind, but years of not trying to make the grind fun. They were compounded by speeding up the grind, without speeding up the hero releases, in a hero collector. I haven't even been here since the start and the game is a wasteland of abandoned game modes, systems, and currencies that have not been refreshed to make them relevant again. The choice keeps being made to trivialize the old systems rather than repurpose them. **bleep** has been abandoned in this game over and over for a decade and now this system over the top that makes everything else below it worthless is what will fix things? Didn't you try that with Leviathan? Weren't datacrons and seasons or eras or whatever supposed to be the long term plan?
With the complaints about the kits and teams that have come out for the last year having too much hard baked into them, and players wanting more strategy and opportunities to theory craft, not less, how does Relic Delta support that?
Flush Relic Delta down the drain where it belongs and focus on bringing relevancy back to game modes that already exist. Prestige modes that incentivize players to reset older content and player through it again at higher difficulty levels. Finally go back and focus on building out ships, and apologize for making Levi the top of the meta (roll it back so it's in line with Exec and Prof). If that's too ambitious how about start small and fix it so we can't run into the same exact enemy team 3x in a row in conquest?
It's really a bummer because the Conquest and hero releases has really hit their stride. I still hate datacrons but I had come to tolerate them. It's been real.
