I really appreciate that you finally took the time to explain the decision in detail. That being said, this should've been the very first thing you did. With a change as drastic as Relic Deltas, you should've started by communicating with the community directly rather than letting popular YouTubers be the bearer of bad news, in hopes that it will soften the blow.
We’ve heard the concern around Relic Delta eliminating strategy (mods, counters, theorycrafting), but we aren’t seeing a complete elimination of strategy during either internal testing or the current playtest. We fully intend for strategy to continue to be a central aspect of both PvP and PvE content. Yes, Relic Delta eliminates some cases (e.g. G12 Malicos beating R8 Rey), but it also introduces some strategy around which characters to invest in and by how much based on your usage of them and their place in the larger meta.
And you're fine with that??? "Well yes it eliminated strategy from our strategy game, but not all of it!" I'm not fine with it. And no, it doesn't add any strategy. Roster building has been important forever, and I like that aspect of the game as well, but it doesn't replace the moment-to-moment strategy in picking your fights and playing them out. I will not play a game that prioritizes investment over strategy to the extent of Relic Deltas.
I also do not have any trust left in your decisions at all. "We knew the initial numbers would not go over well" - then why did you choose to start out with them? They were utterly ridiculous numbers and immediately made the entire player base hate the idea of relic deltas. You should've lead with something that signals you're willing to compromise, that you care about your community. Not this giant "*bleep* you we just want your money".
You keep promising that "most players will see a positive impact", but if that were the case then you wouldn't make any money with this feature. Fact is, this will immediately increase the gap between big and small accounts, as intended by you. So anyone with a less than average relic investment will immediately see a negative impact, whether that be in GAC, TW or Conquest. I will not play a game that nerfs half their player base to make more money.
You screwed up when you made relics not scale enough. And now you're going to make the players pay for that mistake. Well I won't pay for your mistakes. To repeat what I said after the first announcement, as soon as this hits the game in any form, I will quit.
