Like someone else said, if you force everyone to go up to a certain relic level to compete than once people get on that level the same problem you're trying to solve will come back. It's clear that this move is one being made by investors to maximize profit over fun. You can talk about all the (mostly strawman) gameplay reasons you want. At the end of the day this is a concerted effort to make the game worse, to raise the perceived value of relics so that people are either forced to pay or forced to quit. This game has earned billions and there are many ways to fix issues like this that don't require screwing over 98% of the player base. At least you were honest with the playtesters and essentially told them your actual goal. Now I know for sure you have bad intentions and don't care.
