Buying the other 12 per month would cost half the possible free currency. That's assuming you can earn it all without a 7* marquee character.
That's also assuming you'll be able to get enough currency in time for the refresh every week.
Its enough currency for 25 additional omicrons. Only need to buy 12 of those to be even with the old system
By the looks of it theres only 3 omi's in the shop per week.
If the 3 star marque characters give you enough challenge points, if you notice the last post only says you don't have to 7 star the characters, no mention of the minimum star requirements
