Rewards structure is weird for shards. First two runs, guaranteed Appo shards. Second two runs 50-50 Appo or CX shards, etc upto 4th pair of runs where you'll only have 25% shot at some scorch shards. Then it drops to one run a week, so less scorch again.
So the final released toon, which you get to start farming last, will have the least shards drop from the era battles, by a long way.
Seems like this encourages slower farming of the first two toons released (also in any era in the future), as you will be waiting on scorch anyway, so why bother with more than one refresh at all? Or maybe not even with one?
The whales were going to get the characters straight away, era battle rewards or not, they always have been. Not sure what the idea of this is at all. I guess maybe it tipped some over into being whales/dolphins with the FOMO? For me, this new structure has me knowing I can use up less crystals in the first and second release toons, and still get to the full squad for whatever they are needed for at the same time. So that's nice for me, but I don't see the business case for it.
