How are F2P players supposed to unlock Hate-Fueled Maul or Undercover Cassian in time? Will the rewards for completing the Journey Guide stay, once the Era is over?

We can’t. I’ve been majority F2P outside of some LSBs when I got back into the game a couple years ago.. I had to pay for some crystals to get Bariss up to 4* to unlock Maul. 
if we’re constantly using crystals to get these toons to 4*, we will never be able to do energy refreshes or even save for Prof/Levi/Exec battle refreshes. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
