Mercenary allies can't be instantly defeated

Does this mean that Baylan can?

    Probably not. It typically says other or another etc if the character isn't affected. Like Enoch's leader ability

    The wording is strange but it is meant to include the leader as well. Allies meaning the entire allied squad. So, Baylan can't be instantly defeated either.
