(Let me preface with the typical disclaimer that none of what I'm about to say is directed at Meathead.)
I think everyone here more than covered most things I'd want to say, but the short-sightedness behind grabbing the quick buck is astounding. It's like when a sports team trades away all their draft picks for the near future for a few aging stars, and they wonder why they're going to be done for a long time when the win now thing doesn't work out.
I'm currently in the process of trying to figure out how I want to handle leaving my current guild that I've been a part of for maybe two years. I'm a spender at times, and the guild is about as casual as a 400 mil guild can be. I'm typically first in everything, sometimes by a wide margin. We got the third crate in our first O66 run, which is 250 mk3 under what we were getting for Naboo. As such, most of the guild is pretty optimistic. Unfortunately, most of this raid consists of teams nobody in the guild but me has. We scored 22.5mil this last go, and I was slightly over a third of that. Not even getting into the other game modes, me leaving is going to **bleep** them. Some may quit regardless, but leaving was going to be difficult enough without the now possibility of nerfing what little they actually had left. I could see the guild crumbling, and just like what happened with my guild before this one, half the people could quit, while currently actually being optimistic about everything. I'm still going to leave, but I hate the thought of this. It's just crazy to me that CG either doesn't see this type of effect, or just doesn't care, the quitters not being their target audience....
