TIE Dagger Update Part 3

Hi Holotable Heroes,

As promised we are making an adjustment to the TIE Dagger in order for it to perform better in mirror matches against another Leviathan. The current optimal counter of Sith Fighter leaves Leviathan exposed to a Punishing One/Executor Fleet. Running TIE Dagger counters Punishing One and now should also not be a liability in a mirror match against another Leviathan.

Old TIE Dagger Crew Ability:

Eradicate the Weak

`At the start of the battle or when Reinforced, for each active Sith ally (including the Capital Ship), TIE Dagger gains 20% Max Protection and 10% Tenacity until the end of the encounter. The first time each enemy falls below 100% Health, TIE Dagger gains 25 Defense Penetration (stacking) for the rest of the encounter.

Whenever TIE Dagger uses a Basic ability against an enemy with less than 100% Health, score a critical hit if possible. Whenever another ally attacks an enemy with a Concussion Mine, TIE Dagger assists dealing 50% less damage (once per turn). At the start of TIE Dagger's turn, recover 20% Protection per enemy with less than 100% Health.`

This is two changes to the ability. The most obvious one being the new line being added of: If the allied Capital Ship is Sith, while TIE Dagger is active, enemy Dark Side Ships can't gain Turn Meter (including the Capital Ship).

The other change is doubling the Max Protection gain from 20% to 40%.

These changes will not require the player to additionally invest in their TIE Dagger, they are purely additions to the ability, and not new abilities or new ability tiers.

We feel that both of these changes will cement the Leviathan as a fleet that is difficult to counter, ensuring that your investment into this difficult-to-acquire Capital Ship is recognized.

As with all things, we will monitor this change and adjust accordingly if necessary, but we are currently happy with how this change landed in testing.

    Fury Interceptor bundle incoming!  It’s so obvious…

    sell a meta counter (punishing one) then immediately nerf said counter so you force everyone to whale on Levi pr lose every game mode forever.

    Whale on Levi all you want - it's not going to make the experience any better. This wasn't motivated by a new pack in the store. I don't know what motivated it - but they can't even sell a solution to the current Levi problems because there's not one to sell.

    The only way to really complain about changes is to stop spending money in the game. Let the 30 day strike begin!

    Add another 30 days for Scythe Ties not getting marked any longer when they get foresight

    What a horrible update. Now Leviathan mirror matches boil down to nothing more than a coin flip. CG proves yet again to have one of the worst development teams in gaming.

    I'm loath to give them too much credit after 3 attempts and months of chaos but they have got it this time. Maybe if you have a bare bones fleet and your opponents have put effort in but that would be fair wouldn't it? 

  • Can we not go back before punishing one was released. All my counters to Levi have been nerfed. Chimera and profundity investment is worthless. I squeezed some use out of empire as I have been climbing on execs with profundity using Tarkin with more investment and using exec punishing one. Both appear to soon be wasted again. Since punishing one has been released I refuse to purchase crystals. As a daily fleet climber I got rank 1 nearly every day at 400 these changes will take 200 crystals or more off me a day and for the first time in years I will be unable to climb, so with all this mess reducing my earned crystal intake over last 2 and half months, I refuse to top up what’s been taken from me by successive bad changes.

    It’s usually another theory crafted counter like Chimera with conquest ships but they stopped it working to fix the issue with punishing one on the last update attempt.
