It worked for me!! I presume it should work for everyone, because, precisely, this workaround removes Google Play Games in Android from the equation....

The issue definitely it is the account linkage and login information stored on your devices between CG/The game and Google Play games .... it is bugged.... So importing your account is allowing you to link the game directly to your EA Account(Ignore why this is not always the case).

Make sure you follow carefully every step.
