Hello Holotable Heroes,

Today we are sharing a major visual and functional refresh for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.

With 10 years behind it, SWGOH was ready for a new look and a more modern feel. Our teams delivered on that vision, and we cannot wait for you to see it. Alongside the update, we also made improvements to a few modes, expanding in areas to bring in resources and reducing areas to make it a cleaner experience.

Now without further ado, let us jump into the details.

Cantina Update

Fey’s Cantina has completed a full remodel and major glow-up! Tables give more information right out in the cantina, and getting around is easier.

  • Visual & navigation updates
    • Updated models and textures for Cantina tables, patrons, and employees.
    • Cantina patrons are more varied and occasionally move throughout the Cantina.
    • Important information is now surfaced in the Cantina itself for easier access.
    • Navigation requires fewer taps/clicks, with less obstruction of tables.
    • The separate rooms dedicated to guilds and ships have been removed.
    • Fey is more talkative if you hang around in the Cantina for a while.
  • Cantina table updates
    • Coliseum/Marquee: visually updated, but functionally the same
    • Arena: Table now provides top-level info about your Squad/Fleet Arena ranks and your current GAC round
    • Guilds: New table gives direct access to guild info and management tools in a redesigned UI
    • Raids: New table with direct access and top-level information about your guild’s active raid
    • Guild Events: New table with direct access and top-level information about your guild’s active Territory War or Territory Battle
    • Campaigns: Now includes all campaigns, including Fleet and Mod campaigns
    • Events: Now shows active Event cards at the top level.
      • Includes a new Challenges tab as the new home of Challenges and Ship Challenges.
      • Events now unlock at level 15, reduced from level 20. Basic Training Events have had their unlock levels shifted down to fill the new space.
  • Galactic Battles: Now has top-level information on your current runs in Conquest and Galactic War.
  • Scavenger: Visual update, but functionally the same.
    • The Jawa running the table has revealed that he is named Rillik.
  • Access to Shipments and the Store remains at the bar.

Campaign Restructuring

The Light Side, Dark Side, Cantina, and Mod campaigns have had complete content overhauls. They now represent more specific moments in the Star Wars stories you know and love, with a few new faces among the enemies you’ll face. These changes will go live one day after the Cantina update.

  • Structural and reward changes
    • Reduced encounters per battle. Most now have just 1 encounter, though each tier has 1-2 battles with a 2nd “boss” encounter.
    • 7 new battles added to each of the Light Side (Hard) and Dark Side (Hard) campaigns, distributed across tiers 6-9.
  • Cantina Battles have a new 9th tier of 7 additional battles.
    • Including first-time rewards of Zeta and Omicron materials.
    • Omicron drops moved from Tier 8 battles to Tier 9. (0.75% drop rate, increased from 0.5% in Tier 8. Tier 9 battles cost 20 energy, up from 16, for a slight increase in drop rate per energy.)
    • Tier 8 nodes that previously dropped Omicron materials now drop Zeta materials instead. (1% drop rate, double the prior Omicron rate there.)
  • Mod Battles cut down from 9 tiers to 2.
    • Tier 1 consists of the same rewards as Tier 3 of Mod Challenges, but still requires 10 Mod Energy per battle, compared to 16 for Mod Challenges.
    • Tier 2 is identical to the previous Tier 9, rewarding Mod Slicing materials, but now unlocks earlier at player level 60.
    • Mod Challenges will continue to be available in the Challenges tab of the Events table until the campaign changes go live, at which point Mod Challenges will be permanently removed from the game. (With quests requiring completion of these challenges updated or removed.)

Early-Game Experience

As with most of our recent updates, we’ve spent more time refining the early-game experience for new players.

  • The Era Unit Inventory no longer appears before player level 20, when Coliseum unlocks.
  • Tutorial dialogues have new character art.
  • Doctor M’ak Nar, Adjunct Bam Teel, Vryssk, and Garudda the Hutt are no longer on tutorial duty, with their responsibilities reassigned to Fey Zara, Shar Seff, (with his newly-revealed surname,) and B7-N5, (who now has the nickname “Bev.”)

Quality-of Life Changes

  • Mods can now be sold directly from a reward dialog. Tap/click a Mod in the reward screen to bring up its details, which now includes an option to sell it.
  • The button to collapse & expand status effect displays now appears in combat by default, and the option to show the button has been removed from the Settings menu.
  • Guild reward crates in Raids now have more descriptive names.
  • Fleet Battle 5-E (Normal) difficulty significantly reduced to better match surrounding battles
