If you tried the steps from Update 2, restart your phone and let me know what's going on, restarting after teh steps has helped a couple folks get past errors that popped up once they completed the steps

Yup, did the steps above, rebooted, then unistalled and reinstalled the game. Still the same loop....

    Uninstall the game first, then uninstall play services, reinstall play services then the game
