My EA account and my Xbox Account won't link.
I just got off chat support with a super unhelpful human about this, and they didn't solve my problem. Let me run down what happened:
1. Download Apex Legends and try to play. Hits me with a popup about resetting my credentials. I follow the link and send the request, to find out that they had my old email address from 15 years ago on my Xbox account, which has never been an issue for me until now. I do not have the ability to log into that email anymore, and Yahoo wants me TO PAY TO GET CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
2. I decide to change my Microsoft email to my current email address to fix this problem and begin receiving the password reset email successfully. After changing my password, I still get the popup on Apex.
3. I decide I might have more luck from my laptop on my EA app after reading some reddit posts about this issue. I download the app, login with my new email and password, to discover my DAD's gamertag is linked to my email address. I unlink it.
5. I try to use the EA app to import friends from my xbox account (in order to link my gamertag to my email address). The app claims that my gamertag is linked to another EA account.
6. I hit up customer support, give them my gamertag, give them my email address, and they reset my password a couple more times and "give me a one time exception to relink the account". Support claims my gamertag is no longer linked, and I can now link them. I reset my xbox. I boot up Apex. Same popup. Can't play. The app won't import and link either.
7. Support runs out of ideas, starts sending me to generic help websites, then terminates my chat session. Side note: Because my chat session was terminated without warning, I couldn't save the transcript.
It's been a wild ride, I just want to play Apex with my brother. Can anyone help?
