Re: Origin Client Crash on Startup

@smegh3adThis fixed it for me! It's not an issue with the launcher by itself after all, it's definitely a corrupted verification file in origin games when the launcher has an issue verifying games installed. I tried clearing the cache, reinstalling and running in compatibility mode. Nothing fixed the launcher crashing right after signing in EXCEPT deleting my Origin Games folder. (Only had Sims4 and NFS Heat installed) Deleted the game installs and the launcher instantly worked.

  • @Spectros00 Ditto... I randomly had this problem... Origin worked fine, then suddenly, crash everytime on start up... looked like it would load, but just as it got past the login part, crash to desktop.

Uninstall and reinstall Origin appeared to work.... I got in without crashing... but then when I pointed it to my game folders, and it began verifying the game files, crash...and then every launch after, instant crash.

Uninstalling Origin again, deleting the game files, and then reinstalling Origin, and now redownloading the games... so far so good...

When you tried to move and verify a game into your origin games folder before the crashes started to happen, cash clearing and restart doesn't fix it there is no need to download everything again just follow these simple steps:

    1. go to your origin games folder rename the moved game folder like "Battlefield 4" to "Battlefield 4a"

    2. open your origin (no PC restart required)

    3. go to your origin games folder rename the moved game folder to its original name like "Battlefield 4a" to "Battlefield 4"

This should fix the crashes and continue verifying the game.

oh and by the way DICE we need a battlefield warhammer 40000 game ;-)
