Re: Broken/Overpowered Characters?

no z7 imp? yea your not good at making list.

Also the hot rod chomper isn't strong, they just get ignored and get you when you are already being shot at.

Also no frozen citron is terrible. You can't win against allstars who ability spam, you can't beat the drake mech, you can't beat a zmech when they are using missles, and of course the imps and their small hit box and unfair gravity gernade.

I take it you have something against Imps, and Zombies in general.

Allow me to make some counter claims.

Z7 Imp is not overpowered. He's really darn good, but not overpowered. Sure, claim that Gravity Grenade is broken all you like because it's true, but Imps being such fragile targets are weak against all sorts of potential threats, including Chomper's Goop, splash damage, explosion characters, Corns, Roses, and a whole lot more.

Hot Rod's trade of health for speed makes him all sorts of broken, considering how much harder it has become for a gooped Zombie to turn, Spikeweed's instant snare, and how absurdly fast he moves with Burrow.

Frozen Citron may have difficulty with Imps, but he is NOT weak. His absurdly long lasting laser allows him to freeze enemies with ease, and if you're having trouble hitting them, the E.M.Peach will keep them still long enough for you to freeze them.

All-Stars may have great abilities, but once they're used up, they're just another big old bullet sponge.

Drake Z-Mechs may obliterate anything at close range, but ONLY at close range. Sure, they have that charge, but they're only getting two uses out of it, at best, before the mech's timer runs out. Also while the charge is on cooldown, they have nothing to help close distance on longer ranged targets, leaving them vulnerable to anything that wants to sit far away and snipe away at their health. This is where Frozen Citron comes in, shooting from afar for the freeze and stun combo.

Missile Madness? Please. It's not common to see anyone using the basic or Party Imp, as most use Drake, Pylon, Z7, or even the occasional Scallywag.

You can believe what you want, but as a currently max ranked player on PC with almost a thousand hours of game time, I think I know about my likes, dislikes, and characters that are most certainly broken.

Also, for the last time. This is MY list. Did you not see the whole "Don't take it personally" part?

Still the imps have broken gravity gerndade and impkata which does 50+ damage and 20% damage resistance with no aiming at all. Yea people with the z7 imp who have no skill suck but then those who know how to aim and dodge is a nightmare to fight and win against.

I seen the common chomper who only eats zombies and the rare chomper that eats strong zombies and bites the weak ones. Its easy to tell a chompers moves because all it is just run strait in front of you to the back of you so you know that you should be able to stop them or deal high damage to them. and spike weeds placing is a waste unless its something like a turbo twister.

You said that the frozen citron is not the best character by saying it is weak against imps which is like 33% of all zombies team. also try killing 3 imps at once and tell me how many times you had 3 imps vs the amount of times you win against them.

Allstars is like 15% of the zombie team. I know that they are vulnerable after they spam their ability but they die quickly with their abilites ready to go. so they spam abilities, die and immediately recover abilities, then spam abilities and the cycle goes on.

Drake mech has good range. They can jump 5 times, they can use the dragon swoop to get you if your far, then the shield that makes them immune to empeach. They can attack you if you are in a high place because their mech is broken.

I see at least 1 normal imp each game and the low levels just spawn their mech and when they see a plant its missle madness time.

Also don't use the i'm max level, played 1000+ hours as an excuse to be correct. I am max level and played 1000+ hours.

I hated the zombies as soon as they dicided to buff the imps to 75 health because people didn't know how to play as them,  buffed the pirates, made broken new variants for the zombies of the old classes (scuba soilder, tennis star) and the ones on the plant teams get nerfed. (zen cactus, unicorn chomper)

Not sure how diffrent PC is from console but more kids who don't know how to shoot and only ability spam really messes the game.

Clearly this isn't an argument either of us are going to win, nor is it worth going on for days about.

I'm just covering how I see the game. I know some others (such as you) aren't always going to agree with me, and that's okay.

All your feedback, positive and negative, encourages me to keep going. I learn from some mistakes, and learn much more in the process from all of you.

So, please. Just allow me to state my opinions about how I see this game, and respect me for them.

  • No point in arguing online, no one ever wins. I think we all just need to get use to the way things are. there's nothing more frustrating than characters constantly been changed and feeling like you have to learn them all over again. There's ways to beat any of these characters. Even if you need to switch characters in order to do so. Or just get on the mic and ask from help from your team. I understand you guys frustration, I really do. That's why I don't use really any of the characters you mentioned. I have to say, there's nothing that makes me happier when my team beats a team full of OP characters. And I damn sure let them know it when I have that 20 or seconds to brag between games. Try that and you'll see there team leaving the game leaving room for more competitive players to come in. Anybody can get a long streak sitting back with the characters you mention. I've gotten a 48 streak with the law pea playing aggressively and I'm damn proud of it. I guess what I'm trying to say is let those people know if there abusing characters, challenge them. Put them in there place.
  • I have to agree with @dwooten77, a lot of times whether or not you get repeatedly trampled by another particular character type will depend in part on what character you are playing yourself, along of course with other factors like skill comparison, terrain and variables like general combat chaos.

For myself personally some of the characters on your list can be problematic but generally the reason I find them so is due to the character I'm currently playing not being a suitable foil for them, with a close second being that I'm distracted by trying to accomplish a particular thing.

Generally speaking in a game I give as good as I get even against characters labeled as "OP" or "Broken" and it's rare that another player gets ahead of me enough to become a Nemesis when I'm playing a character which I'm comfortable with but when it happens I just shrug it off because it's not worth souring your entire attitude over. Heck, it happened this morning with a BBQ Corn player getting 1-9 over me while I was trying to level up my Sanitation Expert by coming in repeatedly from the flanks while my attention was elsewhere but I'm not going to say that it happened because of the character because in the same game I managed to get matching vanquishes with other Corns and managed to make a Hot Rod Chomper player really angry with me by going 7-1 against him.

I agree that the "instant arming" Spikeweed is a feature which can be considered Broken since it's a radical change to entirely remove the arming time that it had in GW1. But as far as other characters are concerned I don't personally consider any of them to be overpowered- I've frozen an oncoming Z-Mech as easily with an Ice Cactus as I have with the Frozen Citron and I've done equivalent feats with the Arctic Soldier and Goalie Star against the Plant team.

My own view is that different variants have different advantages and some of those advantages are easy to access, like fire, ice and toxic effects, while others need more skill or experience to use to their full advantage.
