Re: How to unlink city connected to Facebook?

Once you link a city to a social account, you will not be able to un-link it. If you wish to be connected to a social log in with your current city you will need to log in with a different social account (Google Play/Game Center).

I'm in a similar boat. My Nook HD+ flipped out on me, with every app loaded via Google Play giving me an error that required me to do a Factory Reset. After I reloaded all the apps, I had to start from scratch on SimCity BuildIt. Grrrrrrrr! I followed ll the suggestions, and none of them helped me get to my old city. I was poised to pass 500,000 Sim residents in the next day or so. I put in a LOT of work on the city, and I don't look forward to the idea of starting all over. I had a really cool city. I tried logging in via Facebook, and I couldn't get my old city back. I tried logging in  via Google's games aapp or whatever, and still nothing. Now it thinks that the city that was started by the tutorial is my city and I can't seem to unlink the stinking thing. Is there any mechanism through EA for recovering out lost cities?

The only way to do it, is call Facebook and see if someone there will do it for you, the info is kept on Facebook servers and EA has no control over them

    Hello EA peeps!

I started building my city on my ipad and I didn't realize it was only saving locally (apparently). When I went to install it on my phone, there was no option to import an existing game anyway...so I just started playing since I saw a tip saying to just keep going.

Anywho...now I can only play the game at home and can't for-the-life-of-me disconnect the stupid level 1 city from my facebook. I'm on level 14 on my iPad and this may cause me to ABANDON the game entirely, out of frustration.

This is what my husband did...as he independently encountered the exact same problem.

I know your FAQs say that once connected, its stuck for life. This seems negligent. People have been complaining about this SINCE 2014, according to the rabid user forums (and 16,000+ Google results) I've seen.

I know you guys deal with a huge scope with lots of moving parts and contingencies. I work on a software dev team for a user-facing site, I get it.

BUT....There is NO WAY that after 3 years this issue shouldn't be resolved. To just throw your hands up and say "NOPE! We can't fix it" is ridiculous.

I'm sorry for the rant, but there is really no reason for this to be an issue after all of this time and user outcry

I'm closing this thread to stop it being necroed.

If you have any issues with SimCity Buildit please make a new topic about the issues you are having and what kind of steps you have tried to solve it.
