Did you finish the tutorial? You have to get past a certain point... past Daniel's trade window, past the point where you name your town. I can't remember exactly when you can link to FB but one of the advisors will tell you that you're on your own. At that point the FB option should be in the settings.

I play on an Amazon Fire phone and was able to connect FB after getting past a certain point in the tutorial.

    I have finished the tutorial and tried to connect after visiting Daniel but I get an error stating I need to try again later.  I've spaced my tries out over a few hours with no luck.

    Ahh, well in that case I have no idea. I'd suggest going to their FB page and asking there. They might have an answer for you (they probably won't give you one here), or they might give you a link to contact support.
