Re: Class Discussion: Kernel Corn
@Iron_Guard8The virgin bfn corn vs the chad gw2 corn.
Corn is meant to be more than the peashooter because he is in gw2 where the plants are now going on the offensive for the first time and he has a much bigger hitbox than soldier and he needed offensive abilities to make up for the lackluster offensive abilities of gw1 plants.
All his variants looked/worked nicely and I must say I liked mob cobs design and firing sound especially.
I remember somebody proposed a candy corn which after a few shots would apply random effects like fire, toxic, electric, or piercing damage and I must say I like that idea immensely.
Just like soldier his shots are less detailed in bfn than their gw2 counterpart, why?
His model just like the rest is less detailed than his previous iteration.
He had 150 health because his hitbox is bigger and bfn took this away for no valid reason.
Shogun is pathetic. To get the shield you have to slow down and aim which makes you a slower target and the shield is pathetic, not too mention that it folds like a wet napkin when attacked and you're then just crappy commando corn. You even have worse dps than normal wtf.
His shuck shot is actually in a pretty bad place as the projectiles launch serperately allowing the enemy to dodge or avoid the second shot all together where they once launched together but would spread apart the farther the distance they traveled and they do less damage now so you have to hit both to even put a dent in you're opponent.
Multi shuck is garbage because its a different number of damage on every cob and its highly innaccurate.
I remember everyone asking for a delay to when husk hop explosions happened and it seems like they listened. Funny as I seem to die more to it in bfn to the chained delay damage.
Butter beacon is a waste of an ability imo.
It buffs corns damage by 1 which gives him the same damage as soldier for a limited time. Butter barrage allowed Corn to help his team by forcing enemies off an objective or risk taking high damage. It allows your team to see enemies for a limited time but if they're a fair distance away than its useless to utilize.
Now the main kicker is that ONLY corn gets a damage boost from it. The character with the worst dps in bfn is given an ability that momentarily buffs him to soldiers level. Every zombie can outdamage him, it's pathetic how popcap handled this character.
His pathetic damage and abilities combined with the added mechanics like Overheal amd shields allow his enemies to gain an even bigger advantage over him than they already had. What a waste of a character. Literally any of his variants from gw2 would perform better in bfn than bfn corn does right now and that's just sad.
Soldier is a better character in bfn in everyway and his upgrades are infinitely superior. I don't know what popcap was on when they made this game but it's clear corn suffered from this more than any character.
