Re: Is there a plan to to control Sim City Build It cheating?

@c9851c972984a3d1 And please don’t post the weblink to ‘reporting’ suspected cheating. No response to dozens of submissions over the last 6 months.
How about starting in your list of ‘Top 100 Clubs?”
It’s getting bad right in plain site for all players to see and to be mocked even.

@c9851c972984a3d1 Gosh, I'm level 68 and got excited over leveling up a war card to 10. That player is war level 74. I don't know what my war level is, my COM level is 124. I guess I could have level 20 war cards when my war level is 74 too, right?

@Player_FL_Dave I checked, I'm only at 45 war level, so I have a long way to go for a war level of 74.

I fail to understand the appeal to cheat in a game like this. Cheating Club's war score is 1,559,000 to the non cheating Club's score of 30k. Oh boy, they win a digital prize worth zero in the real world. Oh wait! No, there is always bragging rights to impress their equally moronic friends. Oh yeah, that's exciting!
Why not just Photoshop your cheating score and leave the rest of us to our long, boring, and fair game? Too much work? Too much strain on what few brain cells the cheater has left to use?
It's sad that there are cheaters in every game.

    I recently saw a war score of 17 million…

seeing a lot more of it in the upper levels.

EA is losing the boundaries on its gaming platform

i thought they could come up with way to observe the gross Mount of magnet items (anvils, fire extinguishers) and Shield Busters (gas cans) needed to put up such outrageous scores

Also, a way to look at such low war ranks with all level 20 Magnets, Shield Busters, and Mellow Bellows that’s impossible to have with the time played in the game.

Rather than blowing up season passes and putting choo choo trains in the game, I wish the developers were more focused on finding ways to slow down cheaters.

I actually have the war rank 74

i have been playing since SimCity wars began.

I have a couple team mates with 4 or 5 attacks now at level 20. They are high 70s and even low 80s with war rank.

so, I know there is no way a war rank in the low 30s with a 200k-300k scoring average with level 20 magnet, shield buster, and mellow bellows only with nothing else even opened is not possible

Apparently they duplicate war items as needed with hacked sim coins to purchase rebuilds

this is a hobby for me that I enjoy but recently there has been no response to do anything about it

I’ve noticed no regard to duds if there is no skin in the game to collect the parts honestly within the rules of the game

@c9851c972984a3d1I agree entirely. My war rank is a humble 34, but it has been achieved honestly and by playing the game according to the rules. I've managed to upgrade Mellow Bellow and Magnetism to level 10. Other disasters are at various levels between 2 - 8.
It is just so depressing to have my club to go war, only to see our opponents with multiple level 20 disasters, and knowing that fighting the war is a useless activity, since we can never hope to match the cheats' rate of scoring.
EA seems to be quite sanguine regarding this stage of affairs, and long ago I despaired that EA would waste money or devote SERIOUS attention to removing what is a hideous affront to all those loyal players who play the game in the spirit which was intended/expected.

I am only war level50, started a few months afterstart of sc and reported a lot of foul play players. Last year most of them were succesfully removed, this year, none of the reported players were removed, i followed them at group level and they still play, some of them i followed at friendly code, and also there, no removal, evan after reporting the same user repeatedly. What happened with the helpdesk, if they can or will not act.

    Agreed

there was a time when it was getting cleaned up and the legitimate teams were coming back to the top….

The last several months has been nothing.

There should be a reasonably easy way to report clubs as a whole, and an abnormality that can be seen and verified for ‘outside the rules’ play detection to eliminate the cheating hacks.

  • The new choo choo update may well slow down the cheaters that use hacked feeder cities to supply their non-hacked main city.

If they cannot trade rail items (buy them from their feeder) they'll need to actually make them. I think these new rail items are like omega, where they can't be traded (not sure on this yet)

So if these cheats need to actually "play the game" and do stuff like deploy trains for coins, they probably won't do it. They'll no longer be able to do constant war repairs in seconds, because they won't have endless repair items from feeders. They'll be blocked by the rail items.

So they'll just go back to hacking main accounts? These are at least easier to detect and boot.

Interesting discussion, I did wonder how some of these guys had either the time or cash to put together some of the cities and war chests required. Increasingly a war consists of getting a few shots on, maybe knocking one or two opponents down then being smashed at a rate you have to spend so much time recovering that you spend most of the campaign doing two full rebuilds and have no time for anything else. Always assumed that they effectively cheated by spending a lot of money on extras but in reality those who chose to do that for whatever reason and pay should be protected from actual cyber cheats.

Increasingly also rather than a couple of basic items to repair a building now it's advanced items you have to search long and hard for or have three levels of waiting whilst the raw materials get through the process which isn't practical in the time.

We get they want you on it all day and watching adds and paying but even then progress would probably be slow, and if competitors are doing dodgy hack unprotected then it's basically fraudulent to take people's money for the rest of it.

@bi62n2yxifhb The cheaters have no knowledge of the game play. They get onto a high scoring bot and roll over any challenge. We had not one but two wars where the teams had less than 100,000 pop yet each and every attack was a mag, one was worth 3280, really? You heard me richt, each war attack was a mag , except for the open up attack. I photoed it up for ea to see and am waiting on an explanation how they could be under the dome and still attack.

@Player_FL_Dave They win a lot we don’t think about. Besides the average post wins, the win huge amounts of cash, albeit play cash that they can use to purchase buildings etc. one team I played with briefly were snooty and one member obnoxious to me, I didn’t last lone, but the higher the score the bigger the prizes. Little medals bronze, silver or gold, who needs them when they get 100’s of dollars a game nd they fly thru appointments.
