Re: EA pre-ordered Amazon disc FAIL on PS4 - Star Wars Battlefront / Need for Speed

makaveli-rip - it's good to hear that you have left this 'club' of disappointed would-be players of Star Wars Battlefront on your PS4. As for me...

Here's my update = It's not the PS4 hardware, it's the faulty disc = Return the game for a REFUND if you can !!

(short version)

Tried everything. Nothing worked. I'm going to send my faulty disc back to Amazon for a REFUND (and not risk receiving another faulty disk like PSN member 'UtahSa1nt' did when they returned their faulty disc to Amazon and got another faulty disc again!.).

(long version)

This is the 'last step' (of many steps) recommended by 'EA_Tom' on answers.ea.com, and as my laborious testing of the disc, disc drive, numerous new games that all worked fine, and then hours monkeying with the PS4 system tools which did absolutely nothing in regards to getting the faulty EA disc to play.

I too was looking forward to playing the game, however after spending so much time and still not being able to play, I think I'll hold off for now, and maybe give a digital download version a try months from now, when there's some deep discount during some kind of 'sale'.

Good luck to you all, and may the force be with us always !

    @PurplePest1,

    Thank you all for your updates. I am sorry that I couldn't be of more assistance. I do believe that the discs are faulty here and not the hardware, but I just wanted to be sure that it was tested so users didn't have to wait for a new disc when it wasn't necessary.

    I would like to apologize that the launch of the game didn't go as planned for you like this. I sincerely hope something like this doesn't happen to you again in the future, with any game for that matter.

    @makaveli-rip

    Thank you for letting us know that you got the problem resolved by changing your disc. I would like to add to everyone who encountered the same issue: like I advised in my earlier posts, getting a new disc from your retailer is always the fastest solution if the one you received is faulty.

    Once again, sorry for all the troubles. I hope those of you who obtained a new disc by now are having fun with the game. If there are any additional questions, please let me know.

    I also am having issues downloading battlefront 2. I bought the game for my son on Christmas. Put the disc in and it began downloading. After a minute or two of downloading it pauses and will not resume. So I though it was a system storage issue. So I deleted some games he no longer plays, then tried downloading again. Same thing happened again. So I contacted ea via online help, which was of no help. They just sent some link via email and the info did not do a thing in helping me fix the problem. So I am going to return the disk and get another. Hopefully it works. EA really needs to improve their customer support, like maybe giving a phone number to call to talk to someone instead of this online chat thing they do. Whatever happened to quality customer service. Messaging, chatting, and email is impersonal and often ineffective.
