@Rame2404Can't find anything confirming the touch yet but will keep searching.
https://www.vrfocus.com/2020/06/ea-recommends-playstation-vr-or-oculus-rift-s-for-star-wars-squadrons/I'm going to be playing on my Quest via Virtual Desktop with this game for sure. I find that the controllers work fine for No Man's Sky piloting and this looks to not need a HOTAS setup.
- @TheeMindGoblin controllers for NMS (piloting) are horrible. I'll definitely be using my HOTAS for this game.
VR hands on stick and throttle and 6 DoF on the Quest is amazing. It's literally using your in gamae hands on the stick and throttle.
Using the oculus controllers would be lame for this. This is a flight sim.
Flight sims that use in game oculus controllers are Hokey. It makes for a bad experience..
they are not designed for that.
There is no substitute for a good HOTAS at your side.
Use your VR, but do it with a proper controller for a flight sim.
Nooooo, you can't just include a Side-by-Side stereoscopy in your game with mouse and keyboard control, VR is more complex than that.
Haha, VR R&D at Valve go BRRRRRRR
Gaben suicide incoming😛
The use of controllers would be amazing for this. The ability to press ingame aircrafts buttons on the fly, while using the ingame throttle and stick would add even more immersive experience in VR. Since VR users do not have sight of their HOTAS, perfecting controller support is much more ideal.
Not to mention some of us are not in the financial position to buy a hotas.
I never had any problems using my quest controllers for flying in NMS. Personally I loved it

VTOL VR on Steam has those capabilities, and a lot of people like it. I think virtual reality + HOTAS will make for a very immersive experience though, as long as the VR support is good quality with VR head tracking so I can turn my head, look over my shoulder out the window to check if enemies are approaching from the side/rear, etc.

I think most people who use HOTAS for space/flight games use the same setup in their other games too, and probably won't need to look at their HOTAS devices while playing to use them... for the same reason I don't need to look at my keyboard right now while I'm typing this message to you.To the OP: iirc the Steam store page says you have to use either a gamepad or keyboard & mouse (assuming you're playing on a PC), but news articles about the game say game devs confirm that VR and HOTAS controls will be supported.
