I keep getting asked for a CD key for an unidentified game when trying to install.

Hello everyone, We have resolved the issue and you should be able to play Star Wars: Squadrons on Epic game store. If you're still stuck, try the following: Quit, and restart the Epic Games Store app Launch Star Wars: Squadrons from within the appor Delete your C:\Users\<windows username>\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini file If that doesn't help, please create a new Bug Report and we'll investigate. Tried clearing the web caches for both launchers and uninstalling and reinstalling epic and origin launchers to no avail.

Same Error. Can't verify epic game and don't have product code.

I've contacted Epic and have no response yet. Nothing like getting the runaround. Well, we can all get a refund and purchase from Steam or directly from Origin. We have 14 days from release for pre-purchases.

EA support indicated it's an Epic Games issue, and that Epic Games is supposed to provide the activation code via email for if/when situations like these arise. However, I did not receive the game activation code via email, so I have submitted a support request with Epic to see if they can provide it. Awaiting their reply.

Fortnite? This was my subject line: "Re: I'm unable to install Squadrons because Origin is asking for the Product Code..."
Take a look at the reply I just received from Epic.
"Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us, my name is Alpha Bravo. I understand that you are having some issues with installing the game. No worries, we're here to help!

You may try restarting the Epic Games Launcher first (closing it out via the Task Manager or System Tray). To start, verifying your game files checks that none of your game files are missing or corrupted. If they are missing or corrupt, they'll be re-downloaded through the Epic Games Launcher.

1. Open the Epic Games Launcher.
2. Go to your Library.
3. Click on the three dots next to Fortnite.
4. Click Verify.

Run the Epic Games Launcher as an Administrator
Running the Epic Games Launcher as an Administrator may help since it bypasses User Access Control, which prevents certain actions from taking place on your computer.

1. Right-click your Epic Games Launcher shortcut.
2. Click Run as administrator.
3. Launch the game.

My guess is they're wrong on that since I've seen on other forums people getting a clean handoff from Epic Games Launcher to Origin without any email code.
