Easy Anti-Cheat - Error Code 26

What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. waiting for the game to launch
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. the game launcher before game launched
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 01.10.20. 11:30
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can't play
What happens when the bug occurs? I launch the game in steam, and then the launcher window comes up. the progress bar loads all the way on the launcher and then sits there for 2 minutes. I then get an error message from the launcher that says launch error 26. it then asks If I want to find a solution or close the game. if I click to find a solution it takes e to the anti-cheat web page it also has a check bar to send a crash report which I do every time
What do you expect to see? the game running

What components were you using? the game won't open
Which customizations (if any) were you using? the game won't open

    Hi @prodigy0330, 

    If you haven't already can you try repairing or reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat to see if that helps at all? We also have a dedicated EA Help article listing troubleshooting steps. Please check that out, here.

    Hi

    For anyone that has steam / origin installed on a separate volume to where they install games

    Easy anti-cheat appears to assume that Squadrons is installed into the same location as your launder of choice. This is not the case for me:

    Origin:

    C:\Games_01\Origin

     

    Squadrons:

    F:\Origin\STAR WARS Squadrons

     

    In my scenario it (Easy anti Cheat) complains complains about untrusted file "igo64.dll" located in "F:\Origin" (this path being the assumed Origin install dir based on the game being on F).  It is not the the fie is untrusted, but that EAC CANNOT FIND THE FILE.

    End result is game did not work.

     

    The "fix" for this is to copy all Origin client binaries (files only, no subfolders) into the volume that the game is on. This is probably a bug, but both parties will probably absolve themselves of responsibility.

     

    THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE.

    Exactly identical behaviour exhibited with Amazons "New World".

    Upon trying to launch the game from Steam on my PC (Windows 10), Easy Anti-Cheat throws a launch error - No game executable was found in the catalogue (starwarssquadr),
    The game will not launch.
    I tried going into the EasyAntiCheat folder in the steam star wars squadrons folder and running setup to repair easy anti-cheat. It says successful but does not solve the problem.
    I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the game.  This did not help.
    I also just did the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" option on steam. Didn't work.
    I updated my video card drivers to latest. Didn't work.

    Please advise.

    can you help me I have a problem like you

    the problem: the easy anti cheat say dbghelp.dll is missing and not trusted it located in c/windows/system 32

    what should I do to fix it

    Hi there, 

    SO as the title mention it, i've got an error while i tried to launch the game and it gives me this error.

    Is there anyone who knows what to do ?

    Have you confirmed the file exists locally on your machine?
    If you have then you could try running the origin launcher as administrator. Essentially i think it is EAC saying there is no access but not specifying that it is because the file is missing or because of permissions. Do you run your windows profile as a standard or administrative user?

    Topic says it all. Here is what I've tried so far in order:

    Updating nvidia drivers

    Verifying integrity of local files in steam

    Whitelisting anticheat and squadrons for the antivirus and the firewall

    updating c++ 2019 redist 

    making sure windows 10 and my machine were both up to date

    running a deep virus scan

    restarting computer, uninstalling and reinstalling squadrons

    Any help would be appreciated

    edit: update- so I tried running it multiple times after downloading origins and logging in, somehow hoping that would help, and I keep getting error 15 and 26, depending on luck which error I get for each attempt to run the game.

    This post is relevant above about putting games on a separate drive from the steam install. 
    I moved the Game from my E drive where all my games were stored, to the C drive where Steam is installed and it opens just fine.
    Please move your game to the original steam install location to fix this error.

    I keep having a code error 26 and my game refuses to launch or open. I have checked validity of files and even uninstalled and re installed to no avail. Help?
