Detected AMD Radeon Driver version 0.0.0. (DxDiag.txt included)
Hello all. I bought the Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition of Battlefront 2. I preloaded it, and when i click play in the Origin app on PC, it takes about 3-5 seconds, and then this message pops up.
"Detected AMD Radeon driver version 0.0.0. The required driver version is 17.7.1 or later. Please update your drivers at http://www.amd.com/ before playing the game."
The game doesnt ever open. I dont even see a splash screen. All i see is this message, and then it goes back to desktop. One weird thing tho, is that the Origin app thinks ive played 12 hrs. I havent even seen the opening title screen. Maybe it's because i leave the error message up when it happens (to research possible solutions). Spent all yesterday (11/14) evening trying to get it running, but to no avail.
Ive attached my DxDiag.txt file. I have Windows 7 64 bit with directx 11. I have a AMD 6950 with the current drivers (version 15.20.1062.1004-150803a1-187669C). I did try to download the beta drivers which ar 16.3 or something, but they didnt work either. There actually are some drivers for 17.7.2 out there for AMD cards, and i used those. None of this has worked. Looking at the actual error statement makes me believe that there is some detection software that is erroneously detecting my version number. Is there anything i can do to remedy this? I feel like there is. Ive tried going into regedit to change the version seen by the system, but that didnt work either. Maybe i just didnt change it to the right thing.
Im decent with computers, so feel free to give me technical directions. I really want to play this game. I know about all the flak surrounding this game recently, but this isnt anything to do with that. I just want to play games i like. Im grateful to any help provided.
Also if there is another thread that has this question answered, please feel free to point me to it. I saw one other thread with my exact problem, but not many replies. I figured i would at least make my own thread and provide my dxdiag info to help anyone willing to aid me. If there is any other info please ask me, and i should be able to get it for you.
