Re: Battlefront 2 Not saving any game settings or character cards
I've read about some things that might help with data save problems, but I don't have experience with them
-The game needs the my "\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder to be in the default location, which is in the default partition, in the current user's folder.
-Warning, the following step probably deletes all sorts of game settings and saves permanently.
- Turn off cloud saves by right clicking on BF2 in the origin application, select Game Properties.
- Click the Cloud Saves tab and uncheck "Enable Cloud Saves". Exit Origin.
- Open Windows Explorer and paste the following without the quotes "\%userprofile%\Documents\" into the address bar, then delete the STAR WARS Battlefront II folder.
- Launch the game, exit, and from Origin’s application, turn back on the cloud save feature if you wish to still use it.
I've personally run into problems with folder permissions with other applications. I intentionally removed all access permissions to the \Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\ folder. The Origin application complained and so I easily reverted permissions by inheriting parent folder permissions and then replacing child folder permissions.
-I don't think this will help much, but you could check the permissions of the \Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\ folder . I'm running on a fresh install of Windows 10 so I'm pretty sure of the default permissions.
- To verify the permissions: right click on the folder, select properties, and click on the security tab.
- The following groups or names in the upper box should have the "full control" box checked in the lower box: SYSTEM, Administrators, and the name of the current user.
- If they aren't full control, you can edit them by clicking on the advanced button.
- If there is a button that says "disable inheritance", click it, and then click the Convert button.
- Add or double click on the mentioned groups and user names and enable full control. Make sure to check the "replace all child object permissions" box. Click OK.
I sure hope this helps! Based on what I've read, I'm wondering if the problem is on EA's servers.
