Jedi Fallen Order PS5 Upgrade

I’ve been having issues getting my disc PS4 copy of Jedi Fallen Order to upgrade to the PS5 version. I looked online and on message boards that said I needed to redeem the disc for a code via submitting a help form, an option no longer available on the form. Instead, the console keeps trying to get me to purchase FO again, despite already owning and recognizing the disc (it runs as well - not a lack of recognition). Despite providing proof of purchase and proof of the issue (disc, barcode, menu saying I needed to purchase the game again), I was told nothing could be done, essentially dooming me to spend another $30 if I want to play Fallen Order properly on the PS5. Anyone have any other ideas? It’s really frustrating that EA advertises the upgrade as “free” yet expects me to pay for it, despite already owning a copy.

Only reason I can think of it not working is because I purchased a UK import of the game, which works fine with my North American PS4 and PS5. Only issue is the upgrade factor isn’t working.
