@InquisitorCal Cal Kestis is supposed to have become significantly wiser and more powerful in the force between J:FO and Survivor, allowing him to overpower the purge troopers’ strength and instincts and keep their arms to their sides as he pulls them toward himself.

There is a skill in the Confusion skill tree that allows you to mind trick enemies that are mentally stronger such as purge troopers.

That is an interesting thought, but not one I would personally insist on. Although it was a bit of a disappointment to lose the inquisitor appearance for me as well.
