Fatal problem with Jedi:Survivor

I’m having a HUGE issue with Jedi:Survivor. I’m playing the game on a PS5 purchased earlier this year if that helps at all.

It occurs in the “Lucrehulk Core” section of the game. 

Context: as you proceed from the meditation/save point at that level you have several options. If you have done it several times it’s probably because you’re having trouble getting through the two Yurt villages and the big battle where you’re up against a bunch of droids and a Badlam “hammer” guy. Cal is assisted by his buddy Bode during this time.

After the droid/hammer guy melee they then proceed up some stairs onto another platform. They are confronted by a locked door. Cal goes to a console and interacts with it without success. Bode then uses his jet pack power to eventually raise the door.

They then proceed through a short corridor and penetrate/pierce a “white” laser door. They then hang a right and the game proceeds. I assume that Bode’s presence is essential to getting through the laser door as well.

My problem is that I can’t pierce said laser door. No matter what I’ve tried I simply can’t get through it. I’ve tried redoing the section numerous times in the hope that I can “redo” it and therefore get through it but no go, i.e., Bode never shows up again, and the rope he triggers for Cal is still hanging, etc.

I think the program has RECORDED that I’ve done everything that you’re supposed to do thus no matter what I do it won’t redo/reset, i.e., been there done that. Of course that’s just a theory. But based on my inability to cause the program to redo its earlier behavior I think that l may be on to something. And apparently this has tripped up a LOT of players. So, I’m not alone in dealing with this issue.

So the only conclusion I can come to is that I’m dealing with a fundamental software flaw/bug. And because of it I can’t proceed. Effectively, for all intents and purposes, the program has “bricked” and obviously I’m not happy about that.

I don’t know what to do. Nothing I try seems to make any difference. Please help!
