Constant freezing/crashing on Xbox Series X

Hopefully someone can help me beyond the usual reinstall/clear cache/reset MAC/power cycle. I just got a Series X and Jedi Survivor. I can play Jedi Survivor anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour, at some point in that window it freezes then crashes to the Xbox home screen. Occasionally, it freezes and then powers off the console altogether. I have all the graphic settings turned as low as the Xbox will let them get, with no change. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, updated with a ethernet connection, power cycled, everything. The only thing I haven't done is installed to an external drive because I don't have the money to purchase an external drive right now. I've played other games to see if it's hardware related, and they play flawlessly. It's only Jedi Survivor. Does anyone know of a way to make this game playable? I'm at my wits end, here.
