Not able to open map by pressing M

Summarize your bug When pressing M to open the map, the only thing that appears on the screen is shortcuts (which I haven't even figured out how they work yet). To even be able to see the map at all, I need to press Esc and then "Show on holomap" to show the main objective on the map. But this means that when I see the map, it centers on the main objective and not the player. This means I can only access the map by showing the main objective in the holomap.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Press M - the map does not appear, just the shortcuts.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can only see the shortcuts when M is pressed (which is the key that I have set for the "Map / Shortcut" setting) and not the map.
What do you expect to see? When pressing M I expect the map to appear, and to be centered on Cal's current location, as opposed to having to take extra steps to reach the map and for it to be centered on the main objective.

As the screenshot I attach with this report shows, only the shortcuts appear when M is pressed. Also, when this is done, Cal can no longer jump and the shortcuts do not disappear. The only way to get rid of it, and to be able to jump again, is to quit to the main menu or restart the entire game, and then continue playing.

I find it really irritating that I can't access the map the way I expect to and hope that there will be a fix for this soon.
