Unable to destroy raider veteran jetpack

After you scan a raider veteran it will give you combat tips on how to defeat it. One of those tip say that you can destroy their jetpack making them less mobile. I have tried everything I can think of and still cannot destroy the jetpack. Is there something I am not doing or is it impossible. In the first game you could slam enemies into walls to destroy jetpacks but that tactic doesn't seem to work in jedi: Survivor.
