Doesn't seem anyway improved in the latest patch. I'm going to try the following.
    4k HDR on
    4k HDR off
    1080p HDR on
    1080p HDR off

Also going to toggle boost mode on/off and see if there's any difference. That is supposed to unlock the framerate for some games.

Only the pro model does this. I have a regular ps4 and it's nowhere near as loud during the exact see loading scenes. Makes very little sense that the system would be under less load when in game vs loading screens. Something is wrong here.

DEar jblak the true problem it's not the game but the consolle.

Ps4 pro it's a really * consolle, great games very bad hardware, they can't fix this and if they can they patch via software but not the hardware problem.

The true problem is that ps4 pro is rated for 310watt and with a small form factor a single little fan can't dissipate all the heat.

Just think the fan need to dissipate ram, vrm and gpg and... the PSU!!!

the air flow it's obstruched by psu u can see it froma teardown, the heatsink it's just a small 3 heatpipe with alluminium base...

We are in 2018 and frankly i don't want a noisy consolle, just think when we will play the last of us 2 all this noise how much will break the atmosfere...

Anyway the problem is the coil/whine and the high pitch of the fan that does up and down, really the worst scenario possible.

You can cap the frame rate yes but when very strong games will be out the consolle will overheat and will do the same elettrical noise.

I changed 3 of them cuh-7116b and all, i mean ALL have coil whine.

In one i lose warranty and i opened it i try repaste, adding fans and modding, nothing stopped the coil whine nether the sillicone/glue on capacitors.

Only sony can improve this situation by changing the design of the consolle but they don't care because we buy their * consolles anyway.

I will try a petition but frankly i'm tired and now i sell all my ps4.

    Sorry for my horrible english.

That makes some sense I suppose, but the whine & heat during **loading screens only** makes nonsense at all. The only thing the game could be doing is loadong up ram with the game data. The gpu shouldn't be busy doing very much. Nothing is moving while the game loads!!

No mate in the menus and loading screens with uncapped frame rate the gpu go to 100% and we have fan noise and coil whine!

If you have Horizon zero dawn i can tell you how to prove it

If it's going to max framerate then yes, that would do it. That's what I figure, but cannot show on a console as I can on a PC. They should be able to safely apply a cap to the framerate durimg these loading events. Heck. Even capping the game at 60fps would be good enough.

take horizon play it for a while and without volume and you will ear coil whine, than open the map than push ps button, then push start you will see the m,enu of the game at right.

In this way your ps4 pro will litteraly fly.

Another example is to open the map of horizon  or the menè in call of duty ww2 and push rb and lb just to move the menù right and left, you will notice without sound volume of your tv that you coil/noise will stop istant and then return all time u press the buttons, thats for uncapped frame rate.

So ww2, horizon, bf2 mgs and ecc all have some areas where frames are uncapped and it's NORMAL PS4 PRO DOES THIS

i really think the problem is the firmware of the consolle, they need to put like in xbox one the perma vsync to the tv.

in horizon they patched it but then a firmware or patch broken it again. really tired i think i will go to swtich😉

We need to make a mass complain to sony and we have a 1% chance.
