Summarize your bug I just tried playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the first time in like half a year and I keep getting 0x80040900 when i try to play online. I've done the hard re-start of the Xbox a few times. that did not work. I tired reinstalling the game and a factory reset and i still get 0x80040900.
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? T3e Bag Bandit
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? 11/2518
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM) 11/25/18
In what game mode did the bug occur? Galactic Assault
What is your time zone? PLT - GMT + 5:00
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just try to play i guess
What happens when the bug occurs? A xbox page saying if you keep seeing this restart the system
What do you expect to see?

    I found this in the xbox conection trouble shooting section.

    Do you have Xbox Live Gold membership?

    You need to have an Xbox Live Gold membership to access the online features of your game.

    I already paid enough money for the game, ill smash it before i pay for an xbox live membership just to be able to play it.

    So all of a sudden the game requires Xbox live gold? Today's update didn't fix anything for; still can't play multiplayer and campaign is still broken for me as well. What as waste of money.

  • I hear ya brother.  And for the record, i clicked "accept as a solution" by accident.  I NO WAY accept that as a solution.  My stupid control stick jiggled and instead of clicking reply it clicked that instead. So if anyone can erace that green check mark that would be great.

    Hey @Centennialpigon

    I removed your dupe post, looking at the error it seems to be random occurring not directly tied to Star Wars:Battlefront 2. 

    Are you on IPv6?

  • Thanks bud.  Your question about IPv6?  Im not familiar with most accronims used here.  What is IPv6 refer to, and where can i find the info?  

  • For me it only happens with SWBII, and consistently, and I'm on Ipv4.

    Hey @Centennialpigon, its referring on what kind of IP system your internet is using, if that is IPV4 or 6. 

    If you test network setting on the Xbox it show what kind of connection you have.

    So in addition to my findings on the trouble shooting page about needing an xbox live membership to play multiplayer mode i also just read it on the back of the game box.  It says "xbox live multiplayer".  Heres my question,  why not just say that in the pop up screen?  Why all that c rap about reseting your xbox and trying again with all the 0x80040900 stuff, or even someone from EA mentioning it.

  • Well lads, no more 0x80040900 for me.  Yes the fact remains that you have to have an xbox live gold membership for that screen to disappear.  So with the help of a couple chaps,  i got a " free" pass.
