Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2: Please update your Intel Driver

Hi @jesusking7764

While you might have some success playing other games we cannot guarantee the game will launch or play without any technical issues with those specifications. Star Wars Battlefront II is a highly visual demanding game that requires a strong graphics card. It looks like your process and RAM is also below system specifications.

    Hi @CreditWarrior96

    Your system specs should be able to run the game. I'd recommend making sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and updates for Windows.

    Here is how to check for those: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/pc-graphics-troubleshooting/

    For Windows Updates just type "Windows Updates" in the search bar on your desktop. You'll see it at the top.

    With an Nvidia card you'll want to visit this site to download the latest driver: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    @EA_Blueberry

    Ok. I guess there is nothing I can do then. The game is not even opening. I would at least like to open the game to lower the settings, but all I get is a black screen and then it just closes. This is very annoying because I have seen many people playing the game on the lowest settings...

    Hey @jesusking7764 , if you go to your document folder, do you see Star Wars: Battlefront 2 there?  If you do, open it up and go to settings and then open ProfileOptions_profile with note pad. You can change your settings there.  🙂

  • Hey @EA_Atic , There is a SWB2 folder there, but no settings inside. The folders that do appear are: CrashDumps, RimeTemp, and Screenshots. They are all empty except for CrashDumps, but there is no settings there either...😢

    @darthanes345 try this:

    Go to your documents>STAR WARS Battlefront II>settings>BootOptions

    Open with notepad.

    Find this string GstRender.EnableDx12. Change it too  GstRender.EnableDx11.

    Then got to folder ProfileOptions_profile (also in the previous settings folder)

    Find the string GstRender.EnableDx12 and change it to GstRender.EnableDx11.

  • @DS_Arkos Thanks for your response.
    Unfortunately I do not see a settings folder (like you show in the image). I only see the first three folders. The fourth folder does not show up in my system. No clue whats going on.

    That may be your issue then lol

    Unfortunately I don't know how you could fix that

  • I did what you mentioned and it didnt help. I have a BEEFY computer. Yet it keeps giving me the error to update my intel driver [which is up to date] Then I try to follow the instructions for 3d settings on Nvidia and it isnt even there...

    I meet all the requirements but it keeps saying my driver version is low for my graphics card and it can run bf1 on medium and other games that require a vram of 2gb. invidia stop supporting the geforce 820A 2gb vram card so I can't actually update the drivers.

    Hey @EA_Blueberry ,

    There is, in fact. An issue with EA's games graphics driver detection. I am trying to play Battlefront I on an i5 1240p with Iris graphics, which is a much newer CPU/GPU than the game  requires, and I'm still getting a warning that my graphics driver are outdated. I think the cause is that the game only checks for the last four digits of the driver, i.e. a driver with number xx.xx.101.xxxx will always be bigger than one with number xx.xx.14.xxxx, but this is not what the game detects.

    Maybe, this is the cause of an issue I'm having that prevents the game from detecting the spacebar stroke needed to get past the start screen, even though I've tried everything that's been suggested in this forum and by the EA's support (I have a support case open, without success).
