Re: Can't get a game in any mode and ping site fixes don't work

We are still looking at the ping site issue. No new update so far. 🙂

@EA_Aticjust a reminder that the ping site issue is not all. Even people with the correct ping site can't get any populated lobby at all

Can't tell you how long I've been grinding my teeth with this issue!

I've spend too long on the phone to EA Customer Support being slowly dragged through a support flow chart by someone who's probably never seen and Xbox, asking me to reboot router, open ports, change ping site etc. only to be referred back to these community boards by EA themselves!

EA have no answers and cannot fix the issue with their own servers. What is going on? You are a massive corporation specialising in online gameplay, why is this taking so long and damaging your loyal customer base?

This is a problem that did not exist earlier in the year, during the credits scandal, then you "fix" that and deal us this!

My connection with EA is very poor right now and it seems like you guys don't care enough to put things right.

And.... after over an hour of trying... we're back to can't get an online game in any mode on any ping site.

Only saw one other player in a lobby the whole time too. Can't tell me nobody in Western Europe is trying to play on a Saturday morning. It's prime time for kids.

This is worst issue the game has had yet. Gutted.

I think I have the fix, well it worked for me anyway...a full re-install of the game!

Last night a friendly twitter EA Help guy called "Skeeter" was next in the queue for my online bile, but after patiently replying with the usual fixes which had all been tried his last throwaway line was "you could always try a full re-install as there may be some corrupt files" 👍

Well oh my days Skeeter was right, I guess after the first install around a year ago, patch upon patch and updates etc. have been layered up. I just deleted the lot and did a fresh 59GB install which took around an hour on my 100MB line, the game lobby was straight in to matches quicker than I'd ever seen it before 😎

So if you've tried everything else except for this I reckon give it a go...what have you got to lose, it worked for me !!

Reluctantly trying this method as we speak because the logic about patch upon patch potentially causing corrupt files is fair comment.

Will let you know.

Like an over excited teenager I posted my joy too quickly, the matchmaking server honeymoon lasted a whole 24 hrs and then...

whaddayknow normal service is now resumed....can't get a game anywhere, server site defaults to Ireland and waiting for 9 players to join.....ENDLESSLY

It was nice while it lasted, but now back to Trump, Iran, Brexit with no escape on Xbox

Can't hurt to have a fresh re-install though i suppose? Must be some fragmentation with all the patches. 

Yeah I still think there's logic in that but can't explain why yesterday was so instant into games and today is SNAFU

It's always something, never known a title like it, it's almost like they have a quota to meet for alienating as many players as possible, and creating spectacular new original ways for the game to fail.

Said it before and i'll say it again... It's not a good idea to annoy/let down Star Wars fans, we have long memories and are not the most forgiving!

I talked to skeeter last week. I did the reinstall and it worked at first. But now it is happening again. This is not good.

The reinstall did nothing for me to be honest, did manage to get into a game of Strike after trying every almost other game mode and shouting at my Xbox for a bit, but that was it!

Sorry guys I'm unsubscribing from this thread now, each time my phone pings I have a faint hope that EA have pulled their finger out of their corporate arse and sorted this for the loyal Star Wars fans.

But you know that's not gonna happen. I am utterly dismayed at the lack of response. It's not even funny enough to find a meme for any more...

Sorry to be skeptical and negative but you kept us waiting FOREVER before giving us exact dates and information.

We shall see how successful this update is and I think your delay in fixing this game breaking issue has cost the game way more players than you imagine. 

Again this is the mood...
