Re: Xbox one x overheats and shuts down due to game being stronger then the hardware

@zchret

That's the same one I have also. I was thinking maybe an older model that is well used might have a heating issue. Have you looked up any articles on Xbox One and overheating? They can give you some good tips to make sure it's getting enough ventilation and what issues to look out for.

  • @EA_Aljo I have and the thing is this is the only game that does this I was told to turn down or off some graphic setting which might have helped since j was able to play last night the only problem is it's random on how long before it's overheats

    The Scorpio version has been out now for a couple of years. It's possible your console might have a hardware issue at this point if you got the Day One model. I had a problem with mine and had to send it in for repairs. Do you hear the fan start getting loud when you're playing?

    I'm heading out for the day, but can pick this up with you again tomorrow.

  • It’s been happening to me also. I have an Xbox one x. I have mates who play on the s and normal and they’re fine.

  • my friends are on Xs as well and they don't have this problem

  • I have a Xbox one a and every time I try to play hero’s v villains it shuts off randomly all the time and sometimes it will work then there are days it doesn’t work at all as soon as I get in to a game like 2-3 minutes later it will randomly shut off I’ve played on my friends other consoles and it did the same thing for them. I talked to a Microsoft support rep and they said that it has to be server bugs

    Possible Solution:

    This IS a very real issue and yes, BF 2 does trigger is more frequently.

    The problem is a combination of the Xbox One X design as well as the load that Battlefront 2 puts on the console; especially if you’re utilizing a WiFi connection (although with the current horrible BF 2 server state I wouldn’t recommend it).

    I solved this by purchasing a set of metal risers that clip onto the 4 corners of the Xbox One X. This raises the bottom side of the console and reduces heat retention and allows the consoles cooling system to run more efficiently.

    Prior to this BF 2 would overheat my console, now it doesn’t ... Now BF 2 just overheats me with it’s inept gameplay logic.

    Hope this helps.

  • Try to go in your microsoft account  to see  if your account   detect any problems   with your xbox one x  to find this look for device section   . my account detect no issue found   with my xbox one x

  • This is NOT an overheating issue. This a a graphical fault the game causes with the hardware, and then the Xbox one x incorrectly reports it as an overheat, but it is not an overheat. I have confirmed my Xbox is cool when it happens.

    this a graphical bug/ coding issue with the game that still needs to be resolved. It only happens in certain graphics scenarios, like when grievous’s unrelenting advance is activated. This should have been resolved

    when first reported. Its a critical issue since it completly shuts down Xbox one x units. Particularly launch units.

    I agree, this is not a hardware issue. When mine shuts down, it is completely cool. It happens to me occasionally, but certainly enough to be a pain. No other game has ever caused this even when playing for extended periods. I'm on a Scorpio edition.
