Re: Battlefront 2 lag on xbox one with good connection

Hi there, @reedsoucy576.

I'm sorry to hear about all the lag you're experiencing! Let's see if we can get that to clear up. First, are you on a wired or wireless connection?

  • I am continuously lagging while in game and keep rubber banding as a result, i have a wired connection, Open NAT, good speeds. It is getting annoying not being able to play one of my favorite games.

    Hello, @mejia9201

What system are you playing on? Also, have you tried any troubleshooting steps yet? I'd like to avoid having you repeat them. Thanks!

  • I am experiencing terrible lag and rubber banding too on Xbox series s.  It varies on the time of day, the morning is worst funny enough. People are freezing and skipping on the map (it's terrible with aerial players especially) and my actions are being delayed sometimes.  I am on a strong wireless connection.  I do not have this issue with other multiplayer games and did not have this issue with battlefront 2 when I played up until a year ago before I took a break playing until recently.  I know the game is not being supported with new content any longer, is it possible that ea cut back on the quality and/or amount of online servers as well?

Can you switch to a wired connection or is your router too far away?

That's probably the issue then. Wireless is unreliable and prone to disconnects/lag. Especially when the signal has to travel through walls and/or floors. This gets worse when there are other devices sharing the same connection. It's worse still when anyone is streaming media while you're playing. Until you get wired, or at a minimum, closer to the router, this will continue to happen. You can try changing the wireless channel you're using. That may help. Also, you could try opening ports. They are listed here.

You also may want to try researching powerline adaptors. Those have been a really good solution for many that are too far from the router for a wired connection.

  • I switched from 2ghz to 5ghz wifi and it helped, hopefully this will help others too.

What platform are you playing on and is a wired or wireless connection being used?
