[PC] Limiting FPS crashes game

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:PC
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug When using nVidia inspector to limit FPS to 60, the game randomly crashes when loading a map (Kashyyyk mainly).
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? WinKillerX
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? 14th December 2019 (keeps happening since August update)
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM) Random
In what game mode did the bug occur? Galactic Assault
What is your time zone? ECT - GMT + 1:00
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use nVidia inspector, limit the framerate to 60 FPS and join any match. The game will not always crash but it happens very often no matter the game mode (more often on Kahsyyyk).
What happens when the bug occurs? Game crashes to desktop, no crash message
What do you expect to see? Working game
Please select your region Europe
AMD or Nvidia Model Number nVidia GTX 1080

I can run the game at 120+ FPS, but I don't want that because my PC gets loud. I refuse to use vsync because of considerable input lag. I experimented with various settings and I'm 90% sure the game keeps crashing because of the FPS limit using nVidia inspector, because I can run the game well without the FPS limit. NVidia inspector worked fine until August update and no console command to limit FPS works. I attached the latest crash dump  the game created, hopefully it will be useful. It's a RAR file because the original file wouldn't upload.

I would really appreciate an ingame option to limit the FPS. I think Battlefield V has this option, so it is possible within the engine.

  • So it still isn't fixed and probably never will be. Only 'fix' is to use a program that allows to turn the FPS limit on/off during gameplay. Bandicam allows that for example. Capping FPS only after the match is fully loaded and uncapping it between matches seems to be the way to go.

the game also crash by just restarting the map in custom matches. if you keep restarting you will crash eventualy between 1-3 tries i tested on 3 different setups all the same issue.

*The only fix i have found is to play in DX12 but DX12 as some random stutters so... pick your poison.
