Re: my game loads then glitches out

Thank You for helping me, so do I now move all the cc and mods in the mods folder on the new sims 4 file and also move the other files from my old sims 4 file on the new one to another place then add a few at a time or add just what u said and see if my game works, then if it does I will add a small batch of mods. Is that what you said? Can u approve of this reply. Thanks-Cocoiscute7.

Move your old saves and Tray folder into the new Sims 4 folder that the game has created, then load the game to see if it works. Quit without saving if it loads successfully. Now add in your CC in small batches at a time, loading the game to see if it still works. When it stops working you know that you have one or more incompatible items in the last batch you added so take it out and add piece by piece, again testing to see if your game will load.

I just tried it, I took out the screenshots, cahewebkit, Recorded Videos, cachestr, Custom Music and onlinethumbnailcahe and just left saves and (my) Tray.
It still does not work ☹️ ! Am I doing this wrong? (sorry I took so long to reply)

You took them out of where? You should be moving your Saves and Tray folders into the newly created Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. This folder is recreated when you move the existing one out to your desktop.

When you moved out the files and folders you mentioned, what did you do with your Mods folder? Because that is the folder causing the issue by the sounds of it.

First thing: I removed all those folders listed in my last reply out of my new sims 4 folder (Those folders where my old sims 4 folders kept in my new sims 4 folder) Second Thing: I didn't do anything to my mods folder besides taking the cc and mods out of it until I know what to do. So right now my mods folder in the new sims 4 file is empty.

If you move everything out again and let the game regenerate another new Sims 4 folder, does it work? Sounds like a bit of a mish mash of files and folders at the moment! Just make sure you have your saves safely stored somewhere.

I did the same thing as before (renaming the sims 4 file 'old') and a new sims 4 file isn't showing up

Could you load the game, create a Sim and move them to a lot then play for a few minutes. Save then quit, is there now a new Sims 4 folder?

Ok. Now copy your saves over to the new Sims 4 folder, replacing the saves folder that is newly generated. Load up your game - how is it?

Great! So CC/Mods must be the issue. Yes, move your CC back into the Mods folder in small batches, loading up the game after adding each batch to see if it starts glitching again. When it does move that batch back out then back in in smaller batches, again testing after each batch.

@Cocoiscute7 The same principle applies to your tray items as to your mods and cc: Move a few files at a time, test the game to make sure it still works, move a few more, test again, etc. The tray contents should be fine, but it's always better to make sure.

I can't access the gameplay options in the Game Options menu (Menu>Game Options> GamePlay)
Its just shaded in grey, How am I supposed to add in my script mods

Also every time I exit the sims 4 it says "sims 4 quit"

Are the options greyed out with no Mods or CC added? All Mods must be compatible with the current patch level of the game, have you checked with the creator that they are?

Well when I open up sims 4 it comes up with the mods list (I checked all the mods work) then when I read through the mods list I didn't see any script mods, so I clicked the menu button and tried to see if I could enable script mods but one I entered the menu and clicked Game Options and saw all the options in the game options menu Gameplay and one other option was in grey and I couldn't click them. Is this a problem with my mods or with sims 4

and I did what u said and added in small batches of mods and once I finished adding in all of my mods (including script mods) the game worked like usual except it does not show my script mods and I can't enable them

Are your script mods compatible with the current patch level? EA upgraded to a later version of Python in the November patch which has rendered most script mods incompatible unless the creator has updated them. Could you give me the links to a couple so I can check?
