The Boba Fett problem in HvV
I'm on PS4/PS5 consoles only. While is extremely fun using him and steam rolling LS opponents, it's not balanced and not even close when Boba goes into scene in HvV, specially in open maps where there's literally no way to cover yourself Boba as a Saber or Shooter. Boba was greatly reworked from scratch and vastly improved over time in BF2.
Here's what is broken with Boba in HvV:
- He disrupts LS shooters weapons and also blinds them, Boba only blinds temporarily sabers, sometimes even blinds your own DS team
- Air recovery was never taken off, it means most of the time when Boba is pulled by Anakin, only a few times it goes down to the floor, most of the time it simply recovers and keeps flying. When getting shot by Chewbacca, also same thing, it's suppose to affect his flying path and only works a few times only.
I remember not long ago playing "private HvV matches" in BF2 by having 2 teams of 8 similar high-skilled players who were all friends and having 2 captains to select a non-US server with few players like japan or Germany and playing 4v4 after a few attempts getting into a savage private HvV game. After a while, we set a rule to never use Boba in those matches. Finn glitch wasn't allowed either. Here's some stats to share with:
- When Boba was used DS won 9 out of 10, no matter what team was DS.
- When Boba wasn't used, DS won 6 out of 10 matches only.
This is how powerful Boba actually is in HvV. LS still have to deal with powerful OP characters like Dooku, Iden, Vader and Palps.
There are only 2 maps in HvV where Boba can be "managed". In crait map for example, as long as a gifted 3-shooter LS team and an exceptional Anakin make it to the outskirts of Crait map, Boba is useless and easily overpowered. But in Crait map, chances of success against a seasoned DS team, is only feasible as long as LS shooters stay alive because once a LS shooter gets killed, DS team can just wait for LS shooter to respawn on the other side of the map and easily kill him over and over again.
